Danielle and Leslie at the Hair Salon

The ladies arrived at the Mane Event where Kara and India were waiting.  The salon is not open for regular business today because of the wedding.

"Well Ms. Danielle, how are you feeling?  You look surprisingly calm." (Kara)
"I am a nervous wreck.  I much prefer hosting the events than being the event." (Danielle)
"You are going to be a beautiful bride." (Kara)

"So what are your thoughts for your hair?  Are we thinking up or down?" (Kara)
"I don't have a clue." (Danielle)

"So I was thinking maybe up with a few curls on the end." (Leslie)
"I can do that and I think that will look pretty." (India)

"Mommy, look.  It's Daddy." (Ciana)
"That's not your daddy. (Leslie)

"Girl, you hair is growing like wildflowers.  Must be all that good loving." (Kara)

Leslie checks on Danielle, who is still trying to decide on a hair style.
"Danielle, where's Nicole? Why isn't she here?  I almost forgot she was in the wedding." (Leslie)
"Long story.  She almost wasn't in the wedding, but Rod got it all ironed out with her mother." (Danielle)
"Oh wow. Is she giving you guys a hard time?"  (Kara)

"Are you okay? (India)

"Uh, huh." (Ciana)

"Hello ladies."  (Adele)
"Adele, is that you?  What are you doing here? " (Danielle)

"I just dropped Sydney off at my sister's and I was headed to the church.  I thought I would stop by and see how things are going." (Adele)
"We are still trying to decide on a hair style." (Danielle)
"Why don't you try some nice loose flowing curls first. If it doesn't look right, then she can pin it up." (Adele)
"Okay.  Let's try that."  (Danielle)
"I'm going to say hi to our flower girl and then I will leave you ladies to it." (Adele)

"Hello Miss flower girl.  Are you getting all beautiful?" (Adele)

Well they have a lot of work to do, so we better leave them to it.

  1. Adele is a very thorough wedding planner. Danielle is very lucky. I wish they had prom and graduation planners, Cause my daughter is driving me crazy right now.

    1. mustiwait - Danielle is very lucky. I would say that I could send Adele over to help with the prom, but if she doesn't get back to house hunting her husband is liable to scream.

    1. Alura - Ironically I wore a fedora hat last night for the first time ever. This black hat was just sitting on her shop floor. I felt it was a sign that she was supposed to wear it. Hair is my least favorite thing to do, so this should be interesting.

    1. Georgia Girl - The photostories will help the people survive between videos. You know I wish you were doing this hair instead of me. But I will make something happen.

  5. I enjoyed this episode, Vanessa. Danielle will be a beautiful bride.

Ciana's cute comment reminded me of my daughter's frequent comments when she was around 3. The first time she saw Max Robinson on the evening news, she said, "That's Daddy!"
"No, Daddy is at work." (Me) Each subsequent time, she saw Max, she'd say, "Daddy's at work!" I finally stopped correcting her.

    1. dbg - I published your original message that went to spam. That is sooo funny. In my observance of kids over the years, I have seen this happen a few times. So your daughter thought Daddy worked at the TV station. ROFL!

    2. Yes, but only because she thought Max Robinson looked like her daddy. I couldn't convince her that the two were not one in the same because her daddy was always at work at the time Max aired.

  6. I'm glad you're giving us updates between the videos - it's great to see the progress. Is the deciding on the hairstyle on the day a doll thing or something you do in America? In Australia, brides usually have a 'hair trial' a week or two before the wedding to work out the details. They often come in for a wedding dress fitting after that to make sure the style works with the dress and they often bring their jewellery as well.

  7. Cianna looks very cute in the protective blue drape. Brings back long ago memories of getting my hair done at the beauty salon when I was a kid. Once I got my hair wet in the bathtub and washed my new style down the drain after my mother had paid for the beautician to put in lots of curls -- boy was my mother mad!

    1. I had a similar incident with the application of Dippity Do. I was curious about that pink stuff that sat on my mother's dresser. My 8-year-old self wondered what applying it to my hair would "do." I answered my own question. My mother was not at all happy with me "messing up" my hair. I believe this took place the Saturday before Easter, which probably added to the intensity of her anger and the depth of my punishment.

    2. limbe dolls and dbg - You guys are killing me with this trip down memory lane. I don't have any of my own stories, but I do recall spending a whole day doing my step daughters hair for school pictures, seeing the pictures when they came back, and wondering "what happened to all my hard work". Thank goodness for digital picture correcting. They were a mess.

  10. Carrickters - I'm sure that's just a dolly thing. I wanted to relay to you guys how confused I am over her hair. In real life I am sure most brides do something similar to what you described.

    1. Rosetti - The guys were not together yet. David, Leslie's husband went to his gym first thing, which is why she is toting around the baby. He promised to only stay a couple of hours. Rod and Nicole are getting ready to have a little breakfast. I may do that photostory in the next couple of days. Tony, the best man, is still in the bed. He rarely gets to sleep late. I bet you are sorry you asked, now. In my head, I know what the main families are doing at any given moment. LOL!
