So I Broke Down.....

I feel like I've been a little out of the loop lately.  So much has happened the past two weeks.  One of my dogs got bit by a spider and had to be rushed to the hospital.  I spent almost a week nursing her back to health.  She is fully recovered now.  Since then I've been trying to get a couple of orders completed.  So, I have been away from the blogs.  When I checked back in yesterday, the first blog I saw was Inside the Fashion Doll Studio, and she had posted about the new Hudson Bay Barbie.  I was intrigued.  I didn't know much about the Hudson Bay store, or these iconic stripes, but my ladies were loving the outfit, and the wonderful accessories.  The cute dog in the sweater was a bonus.  Of course, I thought she would be more than I was willing to pay since I really only wanted the outfit and the accessories.  However, barbiecollector.com has her for $49.99 and free shipping for a limited time.  I think this doll came out Wednesday of last week.  I wasn't sure how long the free shipping would last, so after sleeping on it, I decided to buy her today.  Racquel has already called dibs on the outfit.  She's probably one of the few who can actually fit it.  I don't have many model muse size ladies running around here anymore.  Of course, when she arrives, I will let you know if it fits more ladies.

All images are property of Mattel.

She's wearing a black turtleneck and skirt under the coat.

Here I tried to get a close-up of some of the accessories.  She is wearing a really nice wristwatch for starters.  Her coffee cup and smartphone both have the iconic stripes.  Love the bag, too.

After this weekend, I will be able to catchup on all your blogs and comments.  Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. She looks like a roll of Lifesavers candy so that's a win in my book! That bag is giving me life too.

    1. Muff - Wow, I haven't thought of Lifesavers in forever. Wouldn't mind indulging in a pack right now. I don't remember even seeing them in the stores anymore. Of course I haven't looked at a candy aisle in many years.

    2. I just got a bag of Lifesavers at my daughter's school open house last night...I hadn't had one of those in ages, lol. Her coat is awesome. :)

    3. They are sold individually wrapped now in a bag. That's not the same. :-(

  2. "Resistance is futile!" With all of the new dolls coming out from Mattel, it is hard to resist! I ordered her too! I already have an articulated body for her. Glad your dog is feeling better. I know spider bites can be very nasty for both humans and pets!

  4. I picked her up in downtown Toronto. This doll is pretty cool. The jacket is really nice. And the little accessories are a nice touch. You won't be disappointed.

    1. TM - Congrats. I didn't know you lived in Toronto. We honeymooned there, but I haven't been back since. I'm looking forward to seeing her in person.

    1. Fiona - Yes, they did an awesome job on this one. Perfect timing for Christmas, too. Yes, we are very thankful Penelope (the dog) has recovered. After losing her month back in April, I don't think I could have handled losing another one so soon.

    1. Farrah - Isn't she a beaut? I'm just glad I saw her in time to get her for a great deal. My guess is she will be flying off the shelves. Thanks for your doggy sentiments. We think it was a brown recluse spider. I hadn't heard much about them until now, but some of my friends were very aware of them.

    2. Brown Recluse is a horrible spider to be bitten by. Very bad for humans too, not just pets.

  9. I am glad that your dog is doing well. Spider bites can be horrible. I am dealing with one right now as well.

I thought about ordering her but changed my mind because of IT Convention. If she is still available when I return and money is left (Lol), I will get one,

    1. Georgia Girl - Oh no! So sorry to hear about your spider bite. I didn't know how dangerous it could be until a couple weeks ago. She was just minding her business, going potty, and that was probably when it happened.

Money left? Hahahahaha. That was a good one.

    2. Georgia Girl, you are going to the IT convention? Me too! I hope I get the chance to meet you!

  10. I don't know anything about Hudson Bay either, but I really like this doll and accessories. Glad Bruiser's little sister has recovered from that nasty spider bite. Brown recluse spiders are dangerous, so be careful. :-)

    1. Cindi - Penelope and Petey sends their love to Bruiser. We are being much more careful about all creatures.

  11. I like all of her clothes and accessories, including the dog.

Glad your dog is recovering. I've heard of Brown Recluse spiders (my son loves all things animal and creature shows). I always worry about whether any of the spiders that come around here would be dangerous.

    1. Jaye - Thanks. She must have stepped on the spider when she was doing her business. That was her favorite spot for her whole little life. Getting her to go elsewhere has been a challenge, but she's coming around.

    2. Non, j'attends que le prix baisse car elle coute ici $59,99 CAN. Et je pense que en janvier La Baie baissera les prix. C'est vrai que j'aime beaucoup les accessoires et si je l'achète je garde tout sauf la Barbie.

  13. First off, I'm glad your pooch is okay. Secondly, I ordered her, too. I love the coat and all the accessories. And with my $20 off reward coupon, the price was a no-brainer. I'll probably sell or donate the doll, but the poodle has already been named. Order tracking puts them here by Friday...I can hardly wait.

    1. Jewell - Thanks. Me too. I haven't been a member of BC for the past couple of years. Part of my strategy to curtail doll buying. but definitely a great one for the coupon. I can tell you are excited about this one. Lol.

  14. I'm so glad your dog has recovered. Our first dog died of what the vets think was a spider bite. He was just too old to fight the poison.
    Dasia's new outfits look great.

    1. Carrickters - Thanks. So sorry about your dog. I wasn't sure mine was going to make it. My vet told me to soak her leg in epsom salt a couple times a day. That and praying, really did the trick.

Thanks about the outfits. I completely understand about catching up and mixing up.

    1. Kenya - You, too, can have a coat just like that. It comes in your size. Wipe you out financially, too. They be trying to charge an arm and a leg. I'm quick to say, "No, I'm not paying that. What are our other options?"

  18. Sorry to hear about your dog. Who knew?

The Hudson Bay Barbie outfit is nice (the colors remind me of Christmas ribbon candy). Congrats on the purchase.

    1. DBG - Thanks for you sentiments. Apparently, many people seem to know how dangerous the brown recluse spider can be. I had no idea. My dog did her business in that same spot her whole little life, because it's nice and private. She was not happy about me forcing her to find another spot.

Please don't remind me how close we are to Christmas. One of my neighbors just put up Christmas lights. I was like whoa, we aren't that close.
