Tea House Conversations

Kimora Lee Simmons of Baby Phat is in town to visit Racquel at Ni'Chalets.  Racquel wanted her to meet Lena, as an up and coming designer.  It's Monday and the three of them are meeting for tea at the tea house.

Racquel is running a little late, so Lena is taking the opportunity to pick Kimora's brain.

"I'm so excited to be able to talk to you in person.  What is the best advice you can give as a new designer?"  (Lena)

"My best advice would be to never take no for an answer.  People are very quick to say no, even when you are talented.  They feel they have to break your spirit.  Just stay strong and keep moving forward."  (Kimora)

"I know all about being told no.  Fashion designing is my dream, so I'm prepared to go the distance.  I love that you are able to be a great business woman, and a fantastic mom all at the same time.  How on earth do you do it?"  (Lena)

"My children are everything to me.  They are the reason why I'm so driven in business.  It wouldn't make sense to neglect them in the process.  So I just do my best to include them in every aspect of my life."  (Kimora)

"Racquel.  It's about time you joined us.  Sit.  I was just telling your friend Lena how cutthroat the fashion business is."  (Kimora)
"Well, I hope you don't scare her off."  (Racquel)

"Well if she gets scared off by something I say here today, she's not strong enough to be in this business."  (Kimora)

Meanwhile, in the tea room next door, are Tina and Celia.  They stopped to have lunch after leaving Nikki's office.

Tea and lunch have been delivered.  Tina has been anxious to bring up Darius and decides to take the plunge.

"So what on earth was going on with you and Darius back there?"  (Tina)

"I don't know what came over me!  I just never expected to see him again.  So when I did I guess I just lost myself for a minute.  He looked even better than I remember."  (Celia)

"The way you were acting, I would have thought you guys became members of the mile-high club....together.  You didn't did you?"  (Tina)

"Oh Tina."  Celia chuckles.  "Of course not.   But I'd be lying if I said it didn't cross my mind."  (Celia)
"Celia!"  (Tina)
"What?  A hot, young, tenderoni showed some interest.  I just showed a little interest back.  I'm older.  I'm not dead."  (Celia)

Tina shakes her head and starts shaking salt on her salad.

There's an uncomfortable pause in the conversation.

"Did I do something wrong?"  (Celia)

"No, but Nikki is my friend and I have to admit I was a little embarrassed by what happened in her office today."  (Tina)

"You are a grown woman, so you are free to do whatever you see fit.  I don't pass judgment.  I just wished whatever happened between you and Darius had stayed out of Nikki's office.  Now I'm going to feel awkward when I see her and the last thing I need, while planning my wedding is more tension."  (Tina)
"I really am sorry.  Would it help if I called her and apologized?"  (Celia)

"I don't know if that will help or hurt.  Maybe we should just let it go for the time being."  (Tina)
"How's your salad?"  (Celia)
"A little salty."  (Tina)

"Lena, I wish you all the best.  And remember, be fabulous in everything you do."  (Kimora)

"I wish I didn't have to run, but I promised the kids I would only be gone for two days.  If you are ever in my neck of the woods, stop by."  (Kimora)
"Thanks so much for everything."  (Lena)

The Kimora Lee Simmons doll was borrowed from my 7 yr old neighbor.  I am so jealous that she has a Kimora doll and I don't.  That's why Kimora had to fly right back out, because I only borrowed her for the day.

  1. I was sitting here wondering when you'd gotten the KLS doll. And I remembered you telling me that the little girl next door had one. How sweet that she let you borrow her dolly for the day. Great story!

    1. Jewell - Thanks. The KLS doll is on my list. I had to do a quick body swap for the story, then swap her back to her original body. It was very nice that her owner let me borrow her.

  7. I can totally see Kimora offering that very same advise. 😊. Great episode! Kimora is just so gorgeous. I hate that I kissed her for the cheaper price when she was on BC some years back but I still love having her.

    Looking forward to next scene...

    1. Tracy - I watched all the episodes of Kimora's reality show. She was a trip, but I always admired how great a mother she was. Your message confused me. Do you have a Kimora doll or did you miss out on getting her?

    2. Oh lord...I meant...I hate that I "missed" her. I'm turning into those autocorrect memes you see floating around the Internet, lol.

  9. With the way Celia looks you'd think men of all ages would be all over her.Age notwithstanding, she looks good.Lady you don't need Darius! Now for the tea house it's good. The grass flooring, plants all around, the cute little glass china display in back of Tina and Celia, the table's setup were all nice.

    1. Val - Celia has her fair share of admirers. I don't think she gets out as much as she used to. I also thinks when as an older woman, the attention of a young suitor is always thrilling. She doesn't really want Darius. She was just enthralled at the attention. So glad you like the tea rooms.

  11. Nice set up Vanessa! The tea set is awesome! Now that you have a designer story segment a designer doll is a must have. Add her to your wish list. Celia....leave Darius alone! lol

    1. Sonya - Thanks. Apparently you don't know how much that doll sells for on the secondary market. She may be on my list for awhile. She was kind of expensive when she originally came out, which is why I don't already have her.

  13. Kimora is a lovely doll. I haven't seen her before. You are lucky to have a neighbour who also plays with dolls and is willing to share. I'm sure she likes seeing what you do with your dolls. I'm glad Tina and Celia sorted things out and hopefully, it won't cause problems for Tina and Nikki.

    1. Carrickters - The Kimora doll is even more beautiful than portrayed here. If you haven't looked her up, please do. My 7 yr old neighbor hasn't really seen what I do with the dolls yet. I've been trying to get the basement done before I take her down there.

  14. I'm still waiting for the climax with Celia and Nikki. Darius is going to do something stupid, I just know it. I can hardly wait for the blowup.

Tina was very nice in trying to keep the balance between her friends. It's hard sometimes.

    1. Janainah - Celia may be back on the plane before she sees Nikki again. She's only in town for the week. She will be back though, so that blowup may happen in the future. Knowing Nikki, she will address it with Celia the minute she gets a chance.

  15. "Tenderoni," lol! I haven't heard that in a longggg time. Wasn't that a song? "My heart.... belongs to tenderoni. She's my only love.." Something like that. ANYWAY, I liked how diplomatic Tina was. I would have lost it on her myself. Jeopardizing my wedding for some young chicken nugget? Girl, no.

    1. Muff - Yes that is from Bobby Brown's, Roni. Young chicken nugget! LOL. I've never heard anyone referred to as a chicken nugget. That's pretty low on the scale. They aren't even real meat most of the time.

    1. Cindi - Thanks. The only place I know to get a Kimora doll is on ebay. She is hard to find and expensive because she's no longer available on the primary market.

    1. billa's dolls - Lena is not going full scale just yet, but she's gathering the information needed for when she does. I just hope Nikki and Celia don't run into each other any time soon. I don't think Nikki has cooled off enough.
