Emerald Rose Gets Outfits

I really lucked out.  Dresses that I made using my Prettie Girl patterns can fit the Mixi girls, too.  Pants and skirts can fit, but the Mixis can't sit in them comfortably.  The material on the first dress again felt Asian inspired.  It has mini butterflies on it.  The second dress you have seen on Lena.  It now belongs to Emerald Rose.  Looks like Lena just got her first client.

This dress may get some embellishments down the line and she will hem those sleeves.

Lena will probably finish the neckline on this sample dress, now that someone wants to actually wear it.

    1. Roville - Thanks. I'm challenging myself to make pieces in about 20 mins as a way to improve my sewing confidence. We'll have more elaborate, detailed outfits down the road. Stay tuned.

    1. PILAR - Muchas gracias. En este momento estoy tratando de coser sencilla trajes para estas chicas con los diferentes tipos de cuerpo, para que puedan estar en más historias.

  4. They are both beautiful simplified cheongsam, absolutely lovey! Emerald Rose is a lucky girl, and Lena is doing a great job.
Just a suggestion, just to give them the complete oriental feel maybe you could use ton sur ton ribbon. I've found this nice Qipao pattern: http://www.asia-fashion.de/qipao/schnitt01.gif, I think I'll try one too!

    1. billa's dolls - Thanks and thanks for the pattern! I have actually made real Asian dresses in the past for 16" dolls. I'm anxious to make more, but right now my focus for Emerald Rose is to get her some outfits she feels comfortable wearing to college. She's one of my college girls, who is dating one of the local hotties. I can't do anymore stories with them until she gets some clothes that fit. I'm sure she will get a real Asian dress soon, because i just ran across some beautiful Asian fabric in my stash. Maybe that will be on the agenda in March. I can't wait to see your Asian dress! Will that be soon?

    2. It won't be soon, because now I'm really busy with the dresses for Odette for the next Oman instalments and the Tartan collection for both girls and boys. Maybe in april. Now that I think about it, it could be the theme for the dresses for the redhead connection visit to Venice!

  5. both are lovely but the 2nd one really is so lovely on her. The design on the dress really tones perfectly with the colors of the dress.

  7. Great job, Lena! I especially LOVE the dark print dress for the contrast in color-doll complexion. The second dress looks sexier though ;-)

  10. I love both dresses, especially the material for the first. I need to get downstairs and start doing some sewing too! Are you planning on selling any of your designs on your Etsy?

    1. Phyllis - Thanks. Yes, get downstairs and start sewing. That was Lena talking. As for selling....if I get to a point where I feel they are good enough to sell, I will.

  14. It's so hard to get prints in the right scale for our girls. I really like the butterfly print although I love both dresses on your Mixi. Looks like Lena will have lots of clients if Emerald Rose wears her dresses out on dates.

    1. Carrickters - Thanks. Yes the right print size is always an issue. I have another Mixi and four Prettie Girls, so she has to keep sewing. After that she will move on to the two FR girls in town.
