Halloween came a little late. Remember the outfits I thought I misplaced? Turns out I never took them off my desk. I didn't figure this out until after I spent a couple of days cleaning the basement, thinking I had misplaced the outfits down there. All's well that end's well.
What a turnout! Danielle wasn't expecting all these people. She had to change party plans a little bit due to space constraints. It's a good thing the older kids went trick or treating.
"Thank you all for coming. You all look fabulous. We're going to start the party off with a little family fashion show to show off your cute little costumes. When it's your turn, just come to the center, face the camera first, so we can get your picture, then do a 360 to show everyone else. Are we all ready?" (Danielle)
As Danielle speaks, the kids are not really paying much attention. That's kids for you.
But Danielle gets a resounding 'yes' from the people who are paying attention.
(Did you notice the light is now pink? It randomly changes colors.)
"I guess me and my boys will start things off." (Danielle)
There's a new sheriff in town. Julian was not about to give up his Batman costume this year.
Stephanie is dressed as a princess. Both her kids are in elephant costumes. Awwww.
Lynn is dressed as a princess and she brought along her little pumpkin, baby Layla.
Looks like Racquel and baby Shay are both witches. I wish I had gotten a better picture of Shay's witch hat.
Angelica and Nina.
"Honey, we're next, so let's put your mane on." (Michelle)
Michelle and Mikayla
Penelope Moretti and the twins.
Just in case you don't remember what the twins look like.
Leslie, Ciana, and Joseph
Lisa dressed her two little ones in chick-a-dee costumes.
Kimaya, Naisha's daughter, is a little mermaid.
Little Diana Ross, I mean Zahara.
I don't have a clue who Antoinette is supposed to be. Kenaz is such a cutie in his dragon costume.
Vanessa was feeling a little 50ish.
Alicia is the cutest little bunny.
After all the picture taking, Danielle tries to get everyone's attention, as side conversations and kiddie conversations increase. "Okay everyone, next on the agenda is 'bobbing for apples'. Give me a minute to set it up." (Danielle)
Batman helps Danielle with the apple tub. Ciana gets excited as Danielle explains how to play the game. "Can we have a couple more kids gather round the tub?" (Danielle)
"Batman, you may want to take off your cape, first." (Danielle)
"But mom, Batman never takes off his cape." (Julian)
"Okay, Julian. The first one to get an apple will win a prize. On your mark, get set, go!" (Danielle)
The kids are cheered on by the crowd.
There are a few more rounds of apple bobbing so that all the kids who wanted to try, got to do so. A few kids went in multiple times. Afterwards, there was ghost storytelling, but not too scary. More along the lines of Casper, the friendly ghost. Danielle didn't want the kids having nightmares. Everyone left the party with a good bag of treats and prizes.
Such a cute party. So glad you found your costumes - right where you left them ; ). Isn't that always the case?! Antoinette looks like she is ready for a square dance. Congratulation on pulling this off. A lot of work!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - Thanks. I was pulling my hair out over those costumes. I hate losing things. Yes, square dancing! I couldn't think of that. She and Danielle both went a little country this year.
DeleteHello from Spain: I can imagine that you worked a lot. Many dolls and many disguises. I congratulate you for the work. Awesome costumes. You have a great collection. I enjoyed seeing the fashion show. I also lost in my house clothes and accessories of my dolls. I see you found the costumes. Fabulous.- Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks. I always say I'm not going to do stories with a lot of people, but somehow I always end up doing them. Losing things is the worst. I've been losing a lot of things lately.
DeleteAwwwwwww! Such extreme cuteness...I can't take it. Everyone looks adorable in their costumes! Great story and great photos. I'm glad that you were able to find your costumes. This was well worth the wait. :)
ReplyDeleteRoxanne - Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed the festivities. Nothing cuter than a kid in a costume.
DeleteAll the little ones looked so cute in their costumes. Im glad you found them. :)
ReplyDeleteLeandra - Thanks. I'm glad I found them, too. I was not going to do this story without them.
DeleteAwww, too precious! You have a nice amount of costumes. Great post!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks! I picked up three new ones at Saturday's doll show.
DeleteAdorable costumes and pictures, I'm glad you found the lost ones! Great post :-).
ReplyDeleteNight Owl - Thanks. Seems like everyone had a great time, and that's what's important.
DeleteHi Vanessa, it was worth to wait for this! An awesome party, and they are all so cute!!!! and little Nina stole my heart!
ReplyDeletebilla's - Aww thanks! I'm so happy you enjoyed their little party.
DeleteWow, your collection is amazing! Love the costumes too.
ReplyDeleteTracy - Thanks! The ever growing collection.....
DeleteAh-mazing!
ReplyDeleteKMQ - Thanks!
DeleteThere is just way too much cuteness going on in here! Julian probably went to sleep in the Batman costume.
ReplyDeleteMuff - Thanks. You know our Julian was wide awake the whole time. He was Danielle's little helper.
Deleteso much work but what great results! I know what it is to use alot of dolls when I did my Christmas pageant in 2012- the set stayed up with some dolls moved about but it was alot of work making sure they had the right outfits on, etc. Also, it shows up well I think. So many cute little ones!
ReplyDeleteLisa - Thanks! I may leave this set up for a little while. I was planning to use this space for my church scene that's coming up soon. Since most of these people will be at church, there will be another massive redressing. We doll people are gluttons for doing lots of work.
DeleteVery cute and well worth the wait! Thanks for giving us so much eye candy for Halloween!
ReplyDeletelimbe dolls - Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed the little ones.
DeleteYou've got some adorable costumes there. Did you make them? Looks like a good time was had by all. :-)
ReplyDeleteCindi - Thanks! Most of the costumes are Mattel Kelly outfits. All the crocheted outfits were found on ebay and the Batman costume was handmade by a dear flickr friend, just for Julian.
Deletei knew you could do it. the costumes are lovely. the pictures are great.
ReplyDeleteShirley - Thanks. I almost gave up and getting this post done. Glad I muscled through it.
DeleteThe costumes are all so cute and clever. So glad you found them and put in the necessary work to pull this together.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to see you in costume as well.

DBG - Thanks! As for my personal costume, I didn't take pictures, but the girl who gave the party did. I don't know how the pictures turned out. I'm not sure why she hasn't posted them yet.
DeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ms. Leo!
DeleteThis is soooooooooooooo cute!!!! ^_^ I love the bunny costume!
ReplyDeleteNaisha looks like she does NOT want to be there! LOL!
You put some serious work into that party. So glad I didn't have to wait to see all the details. LOL!
