Brandy's Car Dilemma (Photostory)

Diana peers towards the sliding glass door.  She can hear a car pull into the driveway.  She assumes it's her husband returning with Brandy.

"Hi, Mommy.  What you doing?"  (Brandy)

"Hi darling.  I was just reading and meditating a little bit.  That's a cute dress."  (Diana)
"Thanks."  (Brandy)

Brandy goes over to give her mom a hug.

"So did your dad get your car running?"  (Diana)
"No, not yet."  (Brandy)
"Are you planning to stay the night?  I can take you back to campus in the morning."  (Diana)
"I can't stay tonight.  I didn't bring my books, and I have to study."  (Brandy)

Billy enters the room and takes a seat.

"So did you figure out what's wrong with the car?"  (Diana)
"Well it's not the battery, so chances are it's the alternator.  I'll have it towed to the shop tomorrow."  (Billy)
"Daddy, maybe we should take this opportunity to go find me a new car."  (Brandy)

"New car?  You know we aren't in a position to buy you a new car.  With your tuition hike, and our recent move here, we are tapped out."  (Diana)
"Don't worry.  I don't think it will take too much to get your car back on the road.  Now for the important question.  What time is dinner?"  (Billy)

About a month ago, a ordered a few things from Mattel.com.  I finally opened the box a couple days ago.  I forgot that I had ordered this new Barbie Entrepreneur.  I bought her for her dress, and her accessories, but after seeing her in person, I have to say I like everything about this doll.  She has an Olivia Pope (Scandal) air about her, so I think I will name her Kerry, after the actress Kerry Washington.
Even though it's the same overused face mold, the hairstyle makes her fresh and new to me.  I've decided to use her in my stories.  Can you believe that I need a fashionista body for a Desiree head?  Now that's pretty laughable. Normally I am stealing Desiree bodies and throwing Desiree heads to the side.

She has cool accessories.  The pink item is a handbag, and she has a nice black open briefcase in her hands.

One potential option is to make her the second wife of the professor, which would make her Christine's stepmom.

    1. Mustiwait - You may want to check Mattel.com. They frequently have free shipping on orders over $25. For some reason the I Can Be dolls haven't been coming to my Walmarts.

  3. I sympathize with Diana and her point on tuition hikes. *sighs* It seems to me every year it gets more expensive to go to college. And I can see the resemblance to Olivia. Can you imagine having a little Olivia running around over there LOL

    1. Verona - College tuition prices are crazy. Wouldn't it be nice if for a change they lowered the prices occasionally.

  5. Hello from Spain: I had not seen before Barbie Entrepreneur. She has fabulous accessories. I like the hairstyle she has. She may be the stepmother of Christine. Does Billy buy a new car?. Nice pictures. Keep in touch

    1. Marta - That was my first time seeing Barbie Entrepreneur. I don't think Brandy will be getting that new car. Dad is not going to go against Diana.

  6. I like the Diana-Billy-Brandy family dynamics. There's young Brandy trying to get a new car, lol. Mom Diana - we can't afford it. Dad Billy - when is dinner ;-D

Thanks for sharing the Barbie Entrepreneur doll. She does have a gorgeous face screening. I'll have to check her out on Mattel.com ... oh, after I sell some stuff. Sigh.

Being "good" feels "bad." Still I get some vicarious pleasure from seeing your haul ;-) Congrats on her and that super dress! Oh and the accessories.

  7. In all honesty, I think Mattel has gotten lazy. What is up with this freeze pose dolls on the playline? Little girls want their Barbies to sit, bend and move, not sleep in a sexy model pose or sit with their legs stuck out. LOL! I see it with the SIS dolls, some of the basic Barbies, and more. As far as the head molds go they have overused the Desiree and the GG/CEO for the white Barbie.

I remember when Mattel has the extra friends, children, men, etc. when I was a little girl. Maybe it's economic reasons now, I guess.

    1. KenyaDoll - I agree about these crazy poses. This one may not be that bad. I'm pretty sure this doll can sit. Watching kids play is always refreshing. They just make it work. They don't even care if the dolls aren't sitting so pretty. I do think they need to add more face molds to that playline. How many Desiree dolls can one little girl have? I just don't understand why they don't get that. There should be a minimum of three facemolds used for the AA playline.

    2. My guess is that since the S.I.S. Barbies have the Mbili face, Mattel figure only a Desiree is enough. I don't know what has happened with Mattel but it seems like they have become more racist in their marketing of AA playline Barbies. I don't want to spark a debate and kill the mood by saying that, though. LOL. They should bring back that Asha mold (the one that looks like Kelly Rowland) and add it to the AA playline.

OT: On a lighter note, just to add a fun fact, did you know Tyra Banks collects Barbie dolls? LOL! She even post pictures on her Instagram of them mocking ANTM. :) So cute! I am not sure if all of them are hers or not.

That is what Mattel needs to make, a Tyra Banks Barbie doll. I'm surprised that they haven't since Heidi Klum already had one made.

    3. KenyaDoll - I would agree that there is a diversity issue at Mattel. I did know that Tyra had Barbies. It would be nice to see a Tyra Barbie doll. I wish I had bought the Kimora Lee doll when she first came out.

  8. I like the family too! Diana is on my wish list! I thought about Brandy in Cinderella. Was it Ms Ross as the Fairy Godmother? Anyway, celeb family is a nice touch.

Brandy shouldn´t worry about the car because I´m sure that her father will be able to fix it, sure :)
