Back to Dinner at Sashimi (Photostory)

"How are you doing in there?"  (Shantavia)
"I'm finished!"  (Jada)

"Okay, wipe really well.  (pause) No, no Jada, the seat cover goes in the toilet."  (Shantavia)
"Oooh.  I keep forgetting."  (Jada)

"Straighten up your skirt.  It's a little crooked."  (Shantavia)

"Come on over to the sink.  I'll hold you up while you wash your hands."  (Shantavia)

"Get all the soap off."  (Shantavia)

Meanwhile back in the restaurant, Darius, Nikki, and the Howards have arrived for dinner.  Lauren wasn't able to join them.
"How many?"  (Jaya)
"Four."  (Darius)

"So go ahead and tell your dad what happened."  (Karla)

"I told you nothing happened.  As usual you overreacted. "  (Tori)
"Take it down a notch, young lady."  (Noland)

"Right this way, please."  (Waitress)

"Is this table okay?"  (Waitress)
"This is perfect."  (Nikki)

The couples get seated and the waitress takes their drink order.

"Don't look, but I think that guy is staring at me."  (Martina)

"The service guy or the guy at the table behind us?"  (Polly)
"The cute service guy."  (Martina)

"This story about Andrew stopping by for a book just doesn't sound right.  Have you forgotten, I was a teenage boy.  Teenage boys have one thing on their mind."  (Noland)
"Andrew is not like that."  (Tori)

"Regardless of what Andrew is like, you have been told time and time again that boys are not allowed at my house when I'm not there." (Karla)
"Look at me Tori."  (Noland)

"Your mom and I have worked hard to make sure you have everything your little heart desires.  Your lack of respect shows me that you don't know how good you have it."  (Noland)
"I appreciate what you guys do, but I'm 17 and practically an adult and you guys need to trust me more."  (Tori)

Noland chuckles.
"Did you just say you are practically an adult?  Do you know what being an adult means?  Being an adult means paying bills, going to work, feeding yourself, and the list goes on.  Last time I checked, you weren't doing any of those things."  (Noland)

"Do you know how many pregnant teens gave their moms that same 'trust me more' speech, before they got pregnant?  I'm just not willing to take that chance with your future."  (Karla)

"We need you to use that great brain for something other than holding up your hair.  You are a very fortunate young lady and other kids would kill to have the opportunities you have."  (Noland)

"Trust me, Andrew is just one boy.  If he's pressuring you or encouraging you to disrespect us, then he isn't the right person for you."  (Noland)
"Dad, Andrew isn't pressuring me to do anything."  (Tori)
"Well, I'm glad to hear that.  I also think you have way too much time on your hands, so I've arranged for you to do some volunteer work at a few different places in the community."  (Noland)
"Volunteer?  Does that mean I won't get paid?"  (Tori)

Epilogue
Teenagers!  Those years can certainly be challenging.  Tori is lucky to have two parents that can work together, even though they aren't married.  Hopefully volunteering will open her eyes to how fortunate she really is.

Will Martina and Sargent Ryan do more than just exchange glances?

Where is Sweet in Switzerland Poppy?  Will she meet up with Martina and Polly, or will she venture off on her own?

So many unanswered questions.

  6. Wow Vanessa, you have out done yourself with the bathroom. I know it doesn't have near the details of the restaurant and other rooms you've made but I was like WOW look at that, it's like you photoshopped the dolls into a real bathroom! So you gotta tell me, what's the paper towel holder made out of. Is it a miniature paper towel holder?

    1. Kenya - Thanks! The paper towel holder is just a wooden box that I spray painted silver. One day I may add some paper towels.

  7. Well it looks like Tori will have her hands certainly busy now! I'm glad Karla and Noland are on the same page on how to handle Tori. If I ever brought boys to my room, well, I'd hope I would be just as lucky as Tori is LOL! And can't wait to see if the Sargent Ryan does indeed have intrest in Martina LOL.

  11. Es cierto, siendo tan joven y teniendo todo al alcance, no siempre lo valoran, es posible que en el voluntariado vea las cosas desde una mejor optica.

  16. Interesting to see how all the stories are developing. Volunteering sounds like a good idea for Tori - keep her occupied and maybe open her eyes and understanding to others. Shantavia and Jada are really cute.

  19. Is that disgruntled waitress modeled after Devon Aoki, because it really favors her.

Tori is a piece of work and someone should tell her dad that it's not her boyfriend, but his daughter with only one thing on her mind - and that's getting what she wants when she wants it. If I had talked to my mom that way a switch would have magically appeared in her hand before I got another word out.

If I ever see that sink on clearance I'm going to snap it up because you made it look great removing the original mirrors.

    1. Muff - I didn't know who Devon Aoki was, but there is a strong resemblance.

No one knows that but Tori, and I'm sure she's not telling. You do know Karla wanted to reach across that table, but they are in public and Karla doesn't want the Morristown police ascending on her.

  20. Excuse me asking about but I noticed that during Noland and Karla speach neithr of them neither of them mentioned about anticonception. In Europe usually we're using it, and recommending it, especially to teenagers, to avoid teen pragnacy. In Germany it's even available for teenagers for free if I'm not wrong. I heard Planned Parenthood is providing anticonception pills for cheap prices or for free. Isn't anticonception popular in USA?

I totaly love this restaurant and bathroom, I think it's one of the best of your dioramas!

    1. jewel snake - Here in the States it's called contraception. I would imagine Karla has had several discussions with Tori about sex and contraception. Not only that, in Morristown it is taught in our local schools. You would be surprised how many teens, who are supposedly protecting themselves, will still get pregnant. They seem to have the 'it's not going to happen to me' attitude. It's so easy for accidents to happen even when both people have the best of intentions.

      Thanks for the dio compliments!

  21. I got myself caught up on the right day! I got so see me some Darius. I love the storyline too. I have a set of teenager and college kids that will venture into that storyline but for the life of me Vanessa I need your insomnia bug! I been trying to keep up but time is not on my side (long commute). I'm glad you made Tori character interesting, she will learn some life lessons for sure.

    1. Hi Brini! Nice to hear from you. Glad Darius made your visit worthwhile. You don't want insomnia. Getting a good night's sleep is so much better for you. Let's see how Tori does with these new responsibilities.

  22. Every time I see that sink set, I know I need to paint the one I found at the thrift store! It is so hot here I can't get myself to do anything! I wouldn't have thought it could be used so well but you did it! I like the story too. Mom got a chance to sit back and let dad do the talking. It keeps her from being the heavy and dad stepped up to the plate! Good Story!

    1. Ms. Leo - Wow, you found one at the thrift, too. I'm surprised they're showing up there so soon after being released. Karla has never had a problem with Noland being the heavy. Tori seems to respond better to her father than her mother.
