Have You Ever...?

...made chocolate covered strawberries?  Well, I did for the first time yesterday.  Boy, are they good!  I'm sure I must have eaten them before, but I don't remember them.  I wanted to make some to serve on Valentine's Day.   If you've never done it, I highly recommend it.  It's so simple, and so tasty.  Just do a search on 'chocolate covered strawberries recipe' and you will get all the information you need to make it happen.

I used semi sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips.  I improvised on the chocolate drizzling and because I was running out of time, I made a few boo boos.  They were still tasty.

The second thing I made were red velvet heart shaped mini cakes with cream cheese icing.  These are about the size of 4 regular sized cupcakes.  I ended up putting them on a bed of cool whip.  Man, oh man, were they good.  The cool whip really set them off.  This was my first time making heart shaped food.

I think my dolls would enjoy some of these treats, too, so I will probably recreate them in dolly size.  I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

  1. It looks really delicious! I'm really tempted to make them/buy it/have somebody else make it for me now! Probably isn't the best idea considering I have to squeeze myself in a slim-fit dress soon though.

    1. Verona - You have to make some. Don't buy them. You will appreciate them so much more. That could be your reward for squeezing into that dress.

  3. They look absolutely wonderful! I won't show these to my roommate because then she'll make them. And since I love red velvet cake, I'll have to eat them. Then my jeans won't fit. Then I'll cry. Then I'll have to double my time on the treadmill. But it'll all be soooo worth it! Yum! :-)

    1. Cindi - LOL! It will be worth it, though. Just take off an extra 5 lbs before you indulge. I don't regret it and I get as paranoid as you.

  6. Yummy!! I didn't get so fancy with my strawberries but I have had them. When Christopher and Jay take their annual trip without me, strawberries and chocolate are on my grocery list. It's almost a shame to put chocolate on summer strawberries because they are almost like candy anyway but it just make them OH-SO-DELICIOUS

    1. Kenya - I couldn't believe how good the strawberries were with the chocolate. Hard to believe I don't ever remember having them. I only got fancy because I had both chocolates right there. I bought the white chocolate to make white chocolate raspberry cupcakes, but decided to hold off on that one.

    1. Georgia Girl - I had my first glass of Moscata last night! When I arrived at my bf's house last night he had started my bath water, and placed lit candles all around. Then he brought me a glass of Moscata and fresh fruit. My Valentine treats are still paying off. LOL!

    1. Marta - Thanks! I don't know why you can't leave a comment. Someone else complained about not being able to leave comments, but it was on other people blogs, not mine. Must be a glitch going on in the system. Glad you enjoyed my version of Disney.
