Peach Cobbler and Lemon Meringue Pie

I can't seem to stop cooking and baking.  At least in 1/6 scale.  I was feeling like a little dessert, so I made the dolls a peach cobbler and a lemon meringue pie.  Mmmm.  Mmmm.  You guys are going to have to bear with me on this food thing.  I have to run with this doll cooking thing while I'm inspired to create new dishes.

Peach cobbler.  I can almost taste it.

This was me prepping the peaches and the crust.

Lemon meringue pie.

On another note, I did start painting the pink Victorian house.  I have most of the outside and part of the inside primed.  I'm trying to take my time and do a good job, so it will be a little while before we see the progress.

My Black History Tribute

February is Black History month here in the States.  For me everyday is Black History, so until today I wasn't compelled to make a special post.  BUT this morning when I opened my email there was a link from my dear friend, Gwen, known as Grandmommy in the blogging world.  You can check out her blog, Big and Little Creations, here.  It was a link to a photographer's facebook page.  At first I looked at the pictures and enjoyed seeing the kids.  You know how much I love kids.  Upon closer glance I realized the kids were representing different prominent African Americans from our history and present times.  Talk about impressive!  This photographer, Eunice Jones, did an amazing job capturing each figure through our youth.  Of course, those of you who know me, know the tears started freely flowing as I paged through the images and read each saying.  Each picture took me on a walk through our history.  What a journey it has been!

Eunice Jones encourages people to share the images, unaltered, of course.  Check out here Facebook page here.  I also looked through other images on her site and she does amazing work all around.

SIMPLY AMAZING!  There will be one more picture posted tomorrow.  I will upload that one to this post.  I wonder if it will be President Obama?

The Taylors Enjoy Ice Cream at the Park (Photostory)

My new workspace has me creating all sorts of goodies.  I thought I'd make a few ice cream cones for the Etsy store.  After all, what doll doesn't enjoy a good cone, every now and then.

All three come together as a set.  The flavors are strawberry, chocolate chip, and chocolate/vanilla marble.

They are served on a sugar cone.  Yes, they are slightly different sizes, because they are individually handcrafted without the use of molds.  I think this adds to the realism.  Don't you get mad when you go out to get ice cream and you end up with the smallest scoop?

After lunch the Taylors went on a few more rides.  Jacob got in a good nap and is now well rested.  On the other hand, Julian is pooped.  Those little legs couldn't take any more walking, so Danielle suggested he get in the stroller.  She thought he would protest, but he must have really been tired because he climbed right in.

"Hellooo.  Can I interest you in some ice cream?"  (Ursula)
Hmmm?  Ursula is serving ice cream?  Maybe she is trying to improve upon her villainous image.

As soon as Julian hears the words ice cream, he tries to climb out of the stroller.

"Mom, I'm stuck.  Can you help me?"   (Julian)

"Yes, but let's go over to the bench first."  (Danielle)

Danielle and Jacob wait on the bench, while Rod and the kids get the ice cream.

"Where do you think you're going, little man?"  (Danielle)

Ice cream is ordered and Rod proceeds to pay for it.

Mickey Mouse ice cream cupcakes for Nicole and Julian.

And regular cones for Rod and Danielle.

"Take a lick, Jacob."  (Danielle)

"Watch it, honey.  Looks like it's about to fall."  (Rod)

"Want some, mommy?"  (Julian)
"No, thank you.  You need to start eating it before the ice cream melts."  (Danielle)

"Wait a minute, Jacob.  Let mommy have some."  (Danielle)

The Taylors are going to sleep well after this trip.  Definitely one for the memory books.

Back From Church (Photostory)

Today I got a chance to do a little work on the Langford Victorian home.  The one thing that's staying for sure is the floor.  Everything else is subject to change, just as soon as I find and organize all the stuff that was moved to the basement.

I can't wait to get rid of the pink walls.  This is a general layout of the bedroom.  The bed will be swapped for a bigger one with nice linens.  The dresser will be painted.  I think in the end it will be really nice.

William and Camille ran a few errands after church.  They've arrived back home and unfortunately William has a splitting headache.

"Honey, are you sure you don't want me to bring you a sandwich?  Maybe it's a hunger headache."  (Camille)
"No.  I just need to rest and wait for the aspirin to kick in."  (William)

"Well, I'm going to change and I'll be downstairs."  (Camille)
"Hmmm, mmmm."  (William)

The kitchen is in need of some serious work.  The sink and stove will be revamped.  The pink will be gone.  I added a wall to separate the kitchen and the living room.  My Mattel drop leaf table came in handy.  It's perfect for the two of them and doesn't take up too much space.

In this picture I am showing the table with one leaf up.

Camille is contemplating what to do next.  Since William will probably sleep for the next few hours, she decides to wait to start dinner.  She heads to the living room to relax for a moment.

I'm anxious to get this room finished.  It's going to look nice once I paint the walls, add accessories on the bookcase and throughout the room.

Finally Caught Up With The Videos

I am officially caught up on the Taylor DisneyWorld videos.  There is only one story left to do.  I had planned showing their trip to Epcot, and their trip to Animal Kingdom, but time is passing by so quickly and I have to get them back to Morristown soon.

Keep in mind that the recent changes to YouTube will affect the quality of the video you see.  The video speed (and quality) are selected based on your computer and internet speed.  You can manually change the speed with the click of a button.

Grabbing A Bite To Eat

After leaving "It's A Small World", the Taylors decide to grab a bite to eat.  Poor little exhausted Jacob has fallen fast asleep.

Rod and Danielle both ordered the wings.

Nicole and Julian are enjoying hamburgers from the Hello Kitty eatery.

That's an awfully big burger Julian has in that basket.

The wing plate is now available in my Etsy store.

The four wings and three celery sticks are loose for maximum play.  The plate and bowl are both ceramic.
