Back From Church (Photostory)

Today I got a chance to do a little work on the Langford Victorian home.  The one thing that's staying for sure is the floor.  Everything else is subject to change, just as soon as I find and organize all the stuff that was moved to the basement.

I can't wait to get rid of the pink walls.  This is a general layout of the bedroom.  The bed will be swapped for a bigger one with nice linens.  The dresser will be painted.  I think in the end it will be really nice.

William and Camille ran a few errands after church.  They've arrived back home and unfortunately William has a splitting headache.

"Honey, are you sure you don't want me to bring you a sandwich?  Maybe it's a hunger headache."  (Camille)
"No.  I just need to rest and wait for the aspirin to kick in."  (William)

"Well, I'm going to change and I'll be downstairs."  (Camille)
"Hmmm, mmmm."  (William)

The kitchen is in need of some serious work.  The sink and stove will be revamped.  The pink will be gone.  I added a wall to separate the kitchen and the living room.  My Mattel drop leaf table came in handy.  It's perfect for the two of them and doesn't take up too much space.

In this picture I am showing the table with one leaf up.

Camille is contemplating what to do next.  Since William will probably sleep for the next few hours, she decides to wait to start dinner.  She heads to the living room to relax for a moment.

I'm anxious to get this room finished.  It's going to look nice once I paint the walls, add accessories on the bookcase and throughout the room.

  1. Hey, you could do an episode of "Love It or List It" or maybe "Property Brothers"!

    1. Phyllis - She needs Candace Olsen to come in and help. They have no intention on selling or moving, but she sure could use some help. I love both the shows you mentioned. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. When I see houses like this I think, "What a cool project it would be to fix this up," but I know years from now it would look the same if I had my hands on it, lol. But Team Vanessa will fix it!

    1. Muff - Normally I'm the say way. These type projects rarely ever get done. But having the two houses and using them together has inspired me to move forward. I went to sleep looking at real Victorian houses trying to get inspired.

  8. Poor William! I know all that pink gives me a headache. LOL HGTV is a great source of decorating ideas. Perhaps the Kitchen Cousins could help you revamp that kitchen. LOL Can't wait to see the finished house. :-)

    1. Cindi - LOL. Yes sometimes that pink is a tad overpowering. I'm glad Mattel issued this house in other colors, too. The Kitchen Cousins would be great, too.

    1. Dolly's World - Thanks. It can only get better from here. Even just making those pink walls, white, would be an improvement. I think the aqua fridge is staying, but who knows.

  14. I love the furniture in the bedroom, and the blue and white refrigerator and table kinda remind me of the 50s which isn't a bad thing, they are pretty darn adorable.

Can't wait to see the house when it is finished. It is going to be adorable.

    1. Tracey - Thanks. I'm waiting for Camille to pick out the fabric for her new bedding. Once that happens I can forged ahead. In the meantime, I guess I better get to painting those walls. They aren't going to paint themselves, unfortunately.

    1. Georgia Girl - I like the color pink, but that pink is so 'in your face' and makes it hard to make that house chic, which is Camille's style. I am going to start first with white on the inside then decide from there.

  16. I look forward to reading more of Camille and William - post his headache ;-D

Also looking forward to a reduction of the pink - I think that's a "hard candy pink" ... like Pepto and those Wintergreen mints. A softer, lighter pink would be less BLATT! in your face.

    1. D7ana - Last I checked, William was feeling much better. The contractors they hired have already started painting. They started on the outside and they were surprised at how much paint it's going to take to cover all that pink. They were popping aspirin when I last saw them.

    1. Rossetti - I may opt for a nice wallpaper for the inside. There is heavy pink paper on the top floor and I'm not sure painting it would be a great idea. I am painting the outside. Can't wait for it to be done.
