A Glimpse Inside Mike and Adele's Home (Photostory)

When we last saw Adele, she had just arrived at Jordan's grocer.  Sydney had just fallen asleep and Adele was in a hurry to get back home.  Her sister Linda was due to arrive at her home within the hour.

Adele was checking out.

She had picked up a couple of things for her little soiree with friends.

The guy tending to the seafood counter finally came off his break and Autumn was picking out fresh fish.

She decided on the trout.  Juwan was also eyeing the shrimp.

"Hello Adele.  So nice to see you again.  Are you back in town for good now?"  (Sylvia)
"Hello.  Sylvia, right?  [Sylvia nods]  Yes.  We are back for good."  (Adele)

A little more chit chat and they both get back to their shopping.

Adele arrives home about an hour later.  Sydney is still sleeping but should be waking soon.

She can hear voices, so she suspects her sister has already arrived.

"Hello.  Anybody home?"

"We're in here, honey."  (Mike)

"Well hello everybody.  How long have you been here?"  (Adele)

"Only about 10 minutes." (Linda)
"Honey you didn't offer them anything to drink?"  (Adele)
"He did, but we said we would wait for you."  (Linda)

"Mark, I didn't know you were still in town."  (Adele)
"Hey Adele.  I left and came back."  (Mark)

"Yeah, that's sort of why we are here.  We wanted to tell you the news in person."  (Linda)
"What news?"  (Adele)
"Mark is going to be moving to town."  (Linda)

"Honey, I'll take her."  (Mike)
"I got her.  Could you please go get the bags out the car? Thanks, honey."  (Adele)

Adele sits her purse down and takes a seat as she takes in the news.
"That is great news."  (Adele)

"So Mark, what will you do down here?"  (Adele)
"I'm going to transfer my business down here.  It's not going to happen right away, so I will be going back and forth for a little while."  (Mark)

"Well, I am happy for you guys."  (Adele)
"Yeah, the thought of being that far away from the girls made the decision really easy."  (Mark)

"Auntie Adele, can I hold Sydney."  (Ayonna)

"She's not quite awake yet.  Give her another 15 mins or so, and then you can play with her."  (Adele)

"I love your new place."  (Linda)
"Thanks.  We still have sooo much to do.  I really don't like the whole moving process."  (Adele)

"Don't forget, I said I would help if you need me to."  (Linda)
"I haven't forgotten.  Maybe you could take Sydney a couple days next week.  I can get a lot more done without her here."  (Adele)

"Auntie Adele, can I watch T.V.?"  (Ayonna)
"I'm sorry Ayonna.  The cable isn't being turned on until next week."  (Adele)

"Well hello, Lacy.  You came to say hi.  That's so sweet."  (Adele)

"Look, uncle Mike is back with the goodies."  (Adele)

"Would you like to help me in the kitchen?"  (Adele)
"Oooh, yes!"  (Ayonna)

"I'm coming to help, too, so we can chat."  (Linda)

"You're not going to be chatting about me, I hope?"  (Mark)

"Oh, don't go getting all paranoid.  My sister and I have a lot to talk about besides you."  (Linda)

"Hey guys.  Play nice.  There are children present."  (Mike)

As you can see, Adele still has some decorating to do.  Let's take a closer look at her entryway.  I rediscoverd this cardboard, two-story house, in my garage.  I paid $16 for it some years ago.  It's a tad small for 1:6 scale, but it was really well done.  I wonder if it was a Mary Kate and Ashley house?  Anyway, I decided to cut it up and use the backdrops where needed.  here you see the interior door.  On the other side is a really nice exterior door.  Inside the living room you saw the fireplace.

That is a real working clock I bought from Hobby Lobby 8 yrs ago.  The flower on the table was a Goodwill find.  The table is one I just made for my Etsy store.  It is just like the white display table, except for the color.  I will be posting a couple of them soon.  I don't know what she plans to put in that basket.  With winter coming, I guess it would be a nice place for hats, gloves and scarves.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

    1. Marta - I voted very early this morning, so we are all anxiously awaiting the outcome. Adele is happy that you like the house they chose and what they have done so far. They still have to unpack quite a few things.

  3. Beautiful home! Are Linda and Mark back together. Linda's remark sounded a bit snarky, so I'm not sure...

    1. Verona - Thanks. Linda and Mark are giving it another go. They are hoping the new environment, without the budding in of the ex-girlfriend will help. Linda is giving it another go, but she hasn't forgotten, so she is a little snarky. Let's hope that subsides with time.

    1. Mustiwait - Thanks. I sure wish I had more cardboard house. My mind started wondering how I could create more of those. They did a really nice job on that one. I also have a bathroom cutout that will be shown in some future house. I was waiting to put that clock in one of the grandparent's home, but at the rate I'm going, we may never see their home.

    1. Carrickters - It's hard raising kids when you are in different states. I'm sure his daughters are very happy with their decision. Hope they can iron out their issues and make it work. Hobby Lobby used to sell the best 1:6 scale items without even trying. I miss the days of walking in there and finding such treasures as that clock.

    1. limbe dolls - Thanks. When I made the print sofa, I made two. One for sale and one for the dolls. I've always like paisley print, even though it can be thought of as old fashioned.

  13. I love the floor in her entry way. That pattern won't fit anywhere in my current house, but it goes somewhere in my dream house. I had some software once upon a time when we first got a computer about 98. My husband deployed a lot. So I built my dream house "virtual", you could paint the walls, put in your furniture etc, including a dog. Anyway our master bath had that floor and the shower curtain and towels etc were dark red.

    1. Kenya - I had dream house software, but didn't have the patience to build my house there. I've always enjoyed seeing the b/w checkered floor. It's so versatile. A virtual dog, huh? They are less work. LOL.

  16. Ok, so first I looked at all the pictures and then I went back and read the story. This is the best way to spend my afternoon at the computer lab. Hey Santa, I need a new computer! Any, way loved the story! I was impressed with the fish counter and the hall! Really great job on both. I think it should be fire wood in the basket.

    1. Ms. Leo - I will tell the Santa's here that you need a new computer, too. Thanks for your compliments and glad you enjoyed the story. I was going to put a basket of firewood near the fireplace, but it might look right cozy in the hallway. Good idea.
