Breakfast Time with Terrance and Racquel

It's Sunday morning, Terrance's favorite day of the week.  It's the only day he is not running around conducting business.

Terrance has been up awhile reading the Sunday paper, The Washington Post.

"Are you kidding me?  How did she pull that off?"

Racquel emerges from the nursery with baby Nichelle.  She heads towards the sofa.

"Anything of interest in there? " (Racquel)
"Seems like Lady Jordan won the bid to build the new art gallery.  There was some pretty steep competition for that project." (Terrance)

"I would love to me her one day. Maybe I could pick up some business pointers."  (Racquel)
"I don't know.  She might turn my adorable wife into a ruthless witch." (Terrance)
"Is that what you think of her?" (Racquel)
"No, but I wouldn't want to be married to her. (Terrance)

"Well this adorable wife is going to cook breakfast." (Racquel)
Racquel goes to put Shay down to play.

"This should keep you busy for a little while.  Mommy will be right in the kitchen."

This is Shay's favorite toy.

She's pretty good at entertaining herself.

Racquel surveys the items in the fridge.

"Honey, what would you say to fresh fruit for breakfast?  I found some wonderful raspberries and blueberries at the farmer's market."  (Racquel)
"I would say that's fine as long as it comes with a side order of eggs and bacon."  (Terrance)

"Honey, you are impossible.  I am only trying to get you to eat healthier so you can stay with us longer."  (Racquel)
"Taking away good food will not get me to stay here longer."  (Terrance)
"You know what I mean."  (Racquel)

Racquel pulls out the eggs, bacon, and potatoes.  Recently she has become more health conscious and is trying to get Terrance on her bandwagon.

"Uh oh.  We have a mover."  (Terrance)

Shay has managed to turn herself over and is now in crawling position.

Terrance gets closer, intending to stop her in her tracks, but then he decides to let her explore a bit first.
"Breakfast is served."  (Racquel)
Terrance scoops up Shay and heads to the kitchen.

"Is that all you are eating?"  (Terrance)
"I'm sharing this with Shay.  I have my protein shake, too."  (Racquel)

Terrance is happy to see something a lot more appetizing on his plate.   Eggs, bacon, and hash browns.  Just like he likes it.  Racquel intentionally left out the biscuits he normally gets, but he has yet to notice.

Right after Terrance starts eating, Racquel asks a question that has been on her mind for several months.
"Honey, what do you think about me expanding Ni'Chalets?"  (Racquel)

Terrance pauses and continues to look at his plate.
"I was thinking about adding a kids department.  Just think of all the extra business I would get by doing that.  Not to mention all I would save on Shay's clothes."  (Racquel)

"Please tell me you are kidding."  (Terrance)
"Why would I kid about such a thing.  I  think it's a fabulous idea.  Sounds like something Lady Jordan would do."  (Racquel)

"What you don't think it's a good idea?"  (Racquel)
"No."  (Terrance)
"That's it.  No.  Why not?  You're a good business man.  How can you not see the potential there?"  (Racquel)

"First of all, you haven't been in business long enough to establish yourself as a good risk.  How is this expansion going to take place?  There is no room at your current location to expand, which means you will have to find a new location.  Do you know how much money it would take to get out of your current least?"  (Terrance)

Sounds like it might get a little heated.  We will check back with these two later.

Scenes from the next story.  We are headed to Chang Realty, which is run by Sunni Chang.
"You got a walk-in this morning.  He's waiting in the conference room."  (Mia)

  1. Super slick interior decor. Stylish home for a stylish family. This is to be expected from you. Nice.

    1. Duke of Swann - Thanks. With all these families, I need to make some more furniture for them.

  2. More Drama! Whoo! I'm sure they will work it out though.

    1. Verona - Not drams per se. Just business. I'm on her side. She needs more space. But I forgot about the whole lease business. I guess she did, too. We will all have to think of something else.

  3. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out. I think expansion would be good for her, although maybe it would be beneficial to wait until the lease is up.
    Love this apartment!

    1. Alura - Thanks. I don't think Terrance has too much to worry about at the moment. I've seen the commercial spaces left in Morristown and barring some miracle, I think Ni'Chalets will have to stay put.

    2. Agree - Shay is too adorable. I like how Terrance watched her play. Nice quality in a guy. Good also that he picked the baby up and brought her to the table.

    3. D7ana - You are right about taking her to the table. A lot of men would have left her right there and waited for 'mom' to come get her.

  5. I love the expression you captured when Terrance says "Please tell me you're kidding." Also like the pictures of Shay entertaining herself. I have that same toy but since I don't spend time with babies, I had no idea how it would be used. This story looks like it will get very interesting.

    1. limbe dolls - Thanks for my laugh of the day. I guess if you've never seen a baby use that contraption it would be a bit confusing. We may be clearing out some trees in Morristown to fit in another commercial building. I love problems, so it will be fun trying to figure this out. She really does need to move. (Partly because I found a wonderful store fixture that won't fit in her current store.)

  6. only fruits for breakfast? no wonder Terrance was against it, haha. I was happy to see he won, at least in case of his own meal.does Racquel have eating disorder?
btw, I love these patatos, so realistic!

    1. jewel snake - LOL! Fruit for breakfast is very cleansing. He could probably stand a little cleaning out. Racquel doesn't have am eating disorder, but she is one of my skinnier dolls. This morning I had a banana and soy milk smoothie. Hmmm, hmmm, good. I was happy for Terrance, too, though.

    2. I'd hit the ground in a swoon if I just had fruit and a smoothie in the morning ;-D

I could pass on the meat, but I need carbs in the morning. Buttered pumpernickel toast with those potatoes, please. Then again, I am not as slim as Racquel, lol.

    3. And I'd skip the fried eggs.

Now I am all dreaming about buttered pumpernickel toast ... crunchy and soft and chewy and nutty ... when's breakfast again? Oh, tomorrow morning. Pout. Flounce. lol

    4. D7ana - You are a different person when food is involved. I sure hope you have pumpernickel there at the house for breakfast. You made it sound so good, that I wouldn't mind having a slice. But I'm really looking forward to my apple and English breakfast tea.

    5. LOL, I really, really, really like food. Watching others fix it, seeing pretty photos of it, and sometimes eating it. Sigh. Food, food, food.

Apples can be delicious, too. And English breakfast tea provided it is NOT Earl Grey. Who wants grease in her tea? Oil of Bergamont = nasty grease.

    6. D7ana - Thanks for the heads up on the Earl Grey. I did have my apple and English tea this morning. Enjoyed it so much, I had the same thing for lunch. A scone and some lemon curd would have been nice with that.

  7. I love his humor.... "Taking away good food will not get me to stay here longer." (Terrance)

    2. Then you could have a musical and have Racquel sing "One less bell to answer ... one less egg to fry ...."

      Dating myself again. Sigh.

And hey, every woman is not likely to fry up a nice breakfast for her man if the nice breakfast isn't something she wants, too. So let's clap for Racquel, too.

I like these folks. Thanks for letting us peep in on them ;-D

    3. D7ana - Thanks for the video. Marilyn was so young. Racquel better answer the bell and fry the egg. There are many, many woman here already trying to get next to Terrance.

      I'll be watching for it.

  9. Well, I was thinking if Raquel can give Terrance some good arguments (without arguing), she'll be able to convince her bank manager too. Hope she can, I'd like to see that new store fixture.

    1. Carrickters - Clearly you do not live in the States. Do you know how hard it is for a Black business woman, with a store open less than a year, still operating in the red, to convince a bank manager to trust her with more money? She will probably need someone to vouch for her to make that happen. Which is why she is talking to Terrance. He has connection that could really help her accomplish this goal. After all, he works with Darius, the king of commercial real estate. Racquel thought of going to him directly, but Terrance would have been offended that she didn't approach him first. Now she can't go to Darius unless Terrance gives the okay. Otherwise that would lead to a huge fight. Oh my!

  11. Terrance and Raquel have a very lovely place. I love the colors of the decor.

Shay's play and attempt at exploration was cute. I enjoyed seeing Terrance watch her, too.

Hope Racquel makes the right decision about expanding. Maybe she can eliminate a department that is not very profitable and replace it with a children's department.

    1. DBG - Thanks. Terrance still needs to work on the entertainment area. I like your idea of eliminating a department, but it doesn't solve the problem of the new store fixture. That fixture is a little too big for the current store. She may have to wait a bit though.

  13. Have you always left your story lines hanging? Or is this a new style? Well I'm hooked. Did you make the little newspaper?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kenya - That wasn't even supposed to be the story. She was supposed to be having her mom and sister over for dinner, but I've been wanting her to talk to him about expanding because it's been on our minds even before the wedding. Actually when Darius came to visit her shop when it first opened, he was going to mention expanding to her, but the video took a different turn. You guys think I'm kidding when I say sometimes my story plans are not their story plans and I just allow things to happen. With the wedding being two months long, I have a backlog of stories to get out of my head, so I am weaving them all together. All the new dolls popping up need to get to work to earn their keep. I did make the newspaper. I just googled "The Washington Post" and printed off some real up to date issues. One of the pages even had the tight rope guy on it.

      Delete
    2. Wow to all! ;-) Do you keep a notebook with notes? There's no way I could carry all these stories around with me. Every fleeting thought I have that "might" turn into something is usually scribbled down somewhere. I have to write down a though to make room for new ones.

      Delete
    3. Kenya - I have never written down a single script. The story forms in my mind as I am taking the pictures. It takes complete form when I pull the videos and stories together. I can tell you just about every doll families story. I have trouble remembering names when I haven't used a secondary character in awhile, but I can rattle off stories. This story was left hanging because there wasn't a solution to the problem. As of 15 mins ago, there is now a solution and I can shoot the rest of the story.

  14. Hello from Spain: you know I love your kitchen. It seems real. All food on the table is fantastic. It is also very real situation Terrance reading The Washington Post… Terrace has to watch his diet. He's going to get fat ... Seeing your photos I think Racquel is very beautiful. I might buy her for my collection. The crawling baby is adorable. I love the scene and how you organize. You know I’ll try to copy you ... Keep in touch

    1. Marta - Thanks. I doubt that Terrance will get fat. He goes to the gym 3-4 times a week. He's very conscientious about how he looks. I'll be to visit soon.

  15. Terrance is definitely the "man" of the house. I like how he took a moment to answer Raquel in a respectful way with insight to her idea of adding to such a new business so early in the game. He's definitely a smart businessman. Oh, and FIONE! LOL, great combination. ;)

I enjoy your photo stories as much as the videos. I can click on the photos and really get a look at all the wonderful details and items I didn't even know were available in 1/6 scale. Love it!

I feel so behind. By the way, did you see the mini tour post of Morristown? I know you had questions about the shelving I use.
