Newly Designed Sofa and New Family Addition

What a productive week this has been!  I just finished a newly designed sofa.  I've been wanting to add some new designs to the line and this is the first.  It wasn't what I initially designed.  Couldn't get my initial design to act right, so I made a few alterations.  I'm happy with the end result.  This one is currently listed in my Etsy shop.

This sofa is a little more modern and a little more casual.  The seat cushions are more pillowy (not a real word) which adds to the casual look.  It comes with a set of reversible throw pillows.  One side is a beautiful paisley.

The other side is the sofa fabric.  This allows the buyer to add their own pillows and change the entire look of the sofa.

The sofa still has a tailored look to it.

With the same level of details that come with my other sofas.  I am not taking any styles away (yet), I am adding to what will be available on my Etsy site.

You may be familiar with Grace and her daughter, Courtney .  Well meet Kevin.  He is Courtney's father.  He and Grace recently reunited after living separate lives the past two years.  They never made it down the aisle, even though they were engaged right after Grace got pregnant.  Mr. and Mrs. Langford were a little overbearing and this caused some problems in the relationship.  Now a little older, they wanted to give the relationship another chance.  Originally I had Courtney as a 5 yr old.  She doesn't appear to be as old as Julian,  even though they are the same size.  So I am adjusting her age to 4 1/2.

"Courtney, no candy right now.  I have a healthy snack for you in the kitchen."  (Grace)
"Oh, one little piece won't hurt her." (Kevin)

"Don't you remember being a kid and wanting to hear "yes" when you asked for a piece of candy?" (Kevin)

Grace turns to Kevin.  She wants to say something about how her mother made sure she had healthy snacks so her teeth wouldn't rot and maybe if someone had told him "no", he wouldn't have all those cavities.  She holds her tongue, realizing how anti-productive that statement would be, especially since it would seem like she was throwing his mother under the bus.  Instead she says nothing.  Courtney still didn't get the candy, but at least she and Kevin didn't spend the rest of the day brooding over hurt feelings.

I hope they can make the relationship work.

P.S.  Limbe dolls, I tried to introduce Kevin to Paulette first.  She was not feeling him, so he had to move on and find his place elsewhere.

    1. Georgia Girl - Thanks. I understand about clearing space. Every time one area in Morristown gets cleaned up, another area gets messy as I move the mess from area to area.

    1. DBG - Thanks. I intentionally didn't tell anyone about the last sofa I listed, just so it would stay there a little longer as I got myself ready to knock out a few more chairs and sofas. I am ready now. Let the buying begin!

    1. Sergio - Thanks. I've been wanting to make a more comfy casual sofa. I am going to have to add an Italian stallion named Sergio to Morristown. I think I have the perfect character in mind.

  8. LOL, I'm cantankerous, so as soon as he said that I would have given him the side eye and asked him to join me in the kitchen for a moment. Hrmph!

    Very nice sofa!

  9. Muff - She just got this man back and after two years of dating, she has learned that it is always going to be something. She's just picking her battles a little more carefully. They will have to get on a similar parenting page before Courtney realizes how to play them against each other.

  10. Congratulations on the new sofa design! Auntie Paulette would really like for Rohan to come back so that's probably why she wasn't feeling Kevin. I'm glad to see he is trying to settle down and make things work with the mother of his child. My Power Team guy with that face mold is a bit of a player.

    1. limbe dolls - I didn't know Paulette liked Rohan. I was going to put them together a long time ago, but wasn't sure how you felt about him. LOL! Rohan is going to be at the reception. Gooness. Not more potential drama. I wonder if his partner is coming? Kevin has that player look about him. I'm sure he played quite a bit the past couple of years. I have a feeling these two are going to end up in counseling. They still have issues.

  11. LOL! Grace has "grace" and "tact". I would have said, "I told her no." I love the sofa and the multi colored throw pillows. They would match in my living room.

    1. Kenya - Good one! Girl, I would have too, a few years ago. I have not argued with anyone is person in over 3 yrs. I think it's rubbing off on my ladies. As soon as Tina gets back from the wedding, these two are headed to counseling. She is so close to smacking that smile off his face. I have to give them the best possible chance of survival. After that if they can't make it work, it will be their fault, not mine.

  12. That's a beautiful sofa Vanessa! I really like these two together. It's always a good thing when a couple can make it work, when there's a child involved. Can't wait to see more of them.

  14. mustiwait - Thanks. Yes, unfortunately there's a chance there will be bigger fish to fry. Grace and Jacquelyn take after their mother, Mrs. Langford. Twin sister Dominique is much more laid back than those three.
