Kara's Man (Husband) Made His Way Home

I love my new Power Team guy.  As I mentioned in a post this weekend, when I saw him in the store for the 7th time, I finally bought him because I thought he would be the perfect guy for Kara and her daughter.  I'm so happy I bought him.

Here he is, out of his box.  I had originally named him Terry, but the whole time I was taking these pictures, Kara was calling him Chris.  Okay, she should know.  So his name is Chris.

This is the little girl that is paired with Kara, so I wanted to keep them as mommy and daughter.  She looks like her daddy.  I was wondering where she got those blue eyes.  Now I know.

Yes, they are married,

and very much in love.

And to think he almost didn't make it here.

You can tell she is daddy's little girl,

and mommy's precious angel.

Kara and Chris met when they began performing together 7 years ago.

They usually perform in small jazz clubs.

They spend a lot of time together and make such a beautiful little family.

  2. Dollies Series - He looks so much better out of his box. I can't wait to dress him up. Something about a man dressed up that just does it for me.

  4. A Doll Affinity - They will be performing soon at the local jazz cafe. If I could find time to finish the hair salon, we would see them more regularly.

Vita Plastica - Thanks. I just can't imagine that I can have another favorite family, but I just love them.

  5. I love it! They are all so cute together! I wish I could find him out here! And just where did you get that mic? I need that for my Chyna Dolls lol. Great family photos once again. You really match them up nicely.

  7. Chynadoll - Aren't they just adorable. I bought the camera and tripod for Trichelle and the lady sent the mic with it. I think it may be the one from Jazz Baby. I have several mics, but can't remember where they all came from.

Rosetti - Thanks. I really like them together

  8. Hello from Spain: new guy you're right your Power team is fantastic and different from the classical Kens seems teenage children. Very good buy. The girl went to the father. It's beautiful. Luckily they are happily married and still singing together. As always a wonderful family. I have a question: what is SIS? Barnies and comes in some children but never brought Spain. Is it an exclusive collection for America?

We remain in contact blog blog.

  9. Marta - Thanks. SIS stands for "So In Style". It is a line of African American dolls (so far), that were designed with a more urban feel and with a focus on different activities. I don't know if they were exclusive to the States. Initially there were 3 dolls and 3 little sisters. There have been a few more characters added and a number of different versions produced. Here is a link to the designer explaining the concept. She left Mattel earlier this year and will be coming out with a new line at a new company this month. They are called Prettie Girls. Same concept, but there are a few other nationalities included.

  11. I saw a little girl that looked just like Kara and Chris' daughter in Michael's after the doll show on Saturday. Very cute!

  12. DBG - This little girl was the last of the SIS kids to be added. The previous versions didn't make me want to go out and buy her. This one, along with the B&B hair products did the trick. I took her hair down for the first time today. She has the softest curly hair that actually feels real. This guy is so soft spoken and such a sweetheart. Yes, I got all of that just by looking at him.

  13. limbe dolls - That's funny. Did you happen to hear her name? I haven't named this little girl yet. Her given name is Kianna, but I already have a Ciana. I need to go look into her eyes and let her tell me what her name is.

  17. Georgia Girl - Thanks. I guess that is why there weren't too many other Power Team members in all those stores. I was supposed to see this guy. He was a last resort for me, but once I looked closer I saw that he would be perfect.

  20. NOTE TO ALL. It just hit me who this guy reminds me of. Jennifer Lopez's husband before Marc Anthony! The one who was her dancer. Annndddd, his name is Cris. That is why the name Chris kept popping into my head. Wow! That's so funny!

  22. Sporadically Yours - Thanks so much for the mention. I will go read it after this. LOL about the light skinned affliction. If it's any consolation, he's Caucausian. LOLOL! His daughter ran and gave me a hug when he walked in the door, so I knew I had done the right thing. She had been waiting awhile for her daddy to arrive. On a personal note, I have dated the entire color spectrum, even purple. Not to be funny, but some really dark skinned people have a purple cast. Boy, did I LOVE that man! My father and ex-husband were so light, people were always asking what their nationality is. So I love them all, as long as they treat me well.

  23. Sporadically Yours - If I tear up one more time today.... I am extremely happy that you like my blog enough to be on your top three list. What an honor. Hope my latest light-skinned guy doesn't keep you away. LOL.

  24. LOL!! Thanks for my LOL for the day - #1 your comment on MBS AND the fact that Chris is Caucasian! I'm tickled!

  25. OMG, I love this couple! I made a trip to Big Lots after all the Power Team talk on this blog and was lucky enough to find the same Asian figure that SmidgeGirl has in her blog. Other than that, there was a lot of strange and funnier looking faces that didn't interest me. Now, there is another Big Lots I'm thinking of driving to, that's in a more multi-racial neighborhood, so I'm hoping they will have some different guys. But this guy you placed with Kara is really, really nice looking! He's got a great olive complexion to him and I'm liking the subtle streaks in his hair.

Kara and Chris look perfect together and their daughter is a perfect blend of the two. I can't wait to see them in a story.

  26. Tracy - I am anxious to see your Asian guy now. My Asian Power Team guy is FINE! I haven't really done a lot with him lately, but in person, he is just so handsome.

  27. I also have such a guy and he is my favorite Power Team figure even though he is not black. Does Chris mean Christopher? I also like this new Kianna doll. Kianna (along with Julian) seems to be my favorite SIS kid, and I have two different versions of her, but I would also buy this one if she was not part of a set. I have all four adult SIS girls and don't need additional versions of them...

  28. Dukasha - His real name is probably Christopher, and as I stated in my last reply, I know I have two and that is fine. The other Christopher is named after someone. This Chris wasn't intentionally named after anyone, but the name Chris just kept jumping out at me. So now he is named after Cris Judd. This is my only Kianna doll. Her name won't be Kianna because of my other Ciana who is named after my best friend's daughter. The Kara doll is my favorite and I now have 3 of her, but only one body. Since she's a hairstylist, it makes sense that she would have different hairstyles and occassionally she will put hair pieces in. Her favorite hairstyle is the short one though.

  29. I hope you don't mind me asking, which Power Team guy is Chris?

    1. Jewell - No, I don't mind you asking, but I have no idea. I didn't keep track of what their company names are. I will say he is one of the more recent one's I've purchased, so he's probably not hard to find.

  30. So, I'm late on this as I take time to read a few stories from years ago to catch up. These are great family photos.
