Darius has a sister and today she got Deboxed!

This story came out of the blue today. Wasn't even on my radar until I went to the basement to get some props for another dio I was building.  I love my basement.  It's like going to the toy store everytime I go down there.  So many treasures.

There is something about freeing a doll from her box that is just so exhilirating.  So meet the new lady on the block.  She doesn't have a confirmed name yet.  I am leaning towards Natasha, but not committed to it.  Feel free to make suggestions.  This is Darius' sister.  She will get rebodied soon.  I can't wait to see her in some regular clothes.  She will be part of the Single Ladies Club.  I think she is going to be another real beauty.  I love that gown she is wearing.  If Darius and Nikki get married, I can imagine Nikki wearing that as her wedding gown.  She and Nikki are really good friends.  The picture is being taken in Darius' living room.  I started building his house today.  I need to explore the relationship that he and Nikki have, so one of them needed a house.

I have at least 4 more of these birthstone dolls.  I think I will be deboxing them all at some point for their dresses and selling the doll nude.  If anyone is interested in having your own Natasha (?), let me know.

  1. Love the dress. You are right that it would make a beautiful wedding gown. Don't have any of the Birthstone dolls boxed. I only have March that I found at the Thrift Store.

  2. Frannie - Was she completely dressed? I need to take a picture of the rest of them. All of those dresses were just gorgeous. I have ruby red, emerald green, topaz, light blue, the purple, and this one. I need to create a function where someone can wear one of those dresses. BTW, I may have found Sydney a new mom.

She's GORGEOUS! I'm really excited about your single ladies! And of course...can't wait to see Mr. Reid's bachelor pad. :)

  4. She makes a great sister for Darius. I think I had 2 of the ladies. I have the ruby red and turquoise. I love the Birthstone dolls when they were out. She uses another of my fave facemolds

  6. Dollz4Moi - Ever since I realized how beautiful Top Model Nikki is, I have been looking a lot closer at the faces of my dolls. Never really noticed her face until a couple of months ago. Amazing that you can have something so long and not really see it. I had a total of 3 different facemolds for this series, but most of them were this mold. Maybe I should reroot one to give her a total new look.

  10. D7ana - This was the set! I loved this set. I thought I would end up with all 12, but I stopped at 6. I wasn't too fond of the 2nd set, but I am not a huge fan of the Steffie mold.

  11. These birthstones have the Lea/Kayla face, right? I love that face. My second fav after Mbili. She's beautiful. I might be interested in one of your birthstones - depending on timing and price.

  12. playbarbies - I have never been good at face molds. The thing I like about Mattel is that they can use the same face mold and it look so incredibly different with all of the dolls. Here is a link to a post I did about all the different face molds. http://vansdolltreasures.blogspot.com/2010/12/barbie-face-molds.html

I haven't settled on a price for the doll yet, but I plan to keep it very affordable, if nude. I didn't realize how rare this particular AA Birthstone Barbie was. I may offer the doll both ways, dressed or nude, and let the buyer decide.

  13. I think this is the Goddess( Goddess of Africa was the first have it was used for) face mold. I have three dolls with this face mold. It looks lovely in every complexion! Wonderful dress. June, perls, weddings...I guess they all go together.

One of the many things that I love about your blog is that I get to see photos of so many dolls. Many of the dolls you take photos of I have but I have never taken pictures of them. It is surprising how well and how differently some dolls photograph! It also show us how good you have gotten at picturer taking! Congrats! I guess practice does make perfect.

  14. Ms. Leo and playbarbies - I just checked. That is the Angel Face mold from 1998

Ms. Leo - I still have a long way to go with the picture tsking but two good things did happen. I got more lights and I starting taking pictures in the Programmed mode instead of Auto with my camera. The next thing I have to do is replace all the light bulbs with Daylights. Just discovered this on Friday. I never realize how beautiful some of the dolls are either until after I take pictures of them. Thanks for the compliments.
