Lammily Clothes on the Horizon

I've been promising to design a line of clothes for the Lammily doll.  Well, I finally got started drafting the basic patterns.  Once I get the basics down, I will be able to be a lot more creative.  So far I'm working on pants and tops.  She is 19 years old, so I want to create a wardrobe that a college student would wear.  I do plan to make her some dresses and skirts along the way.  Nothing in the post is finished, but I just wanted you guys to know I'm working on it.  If you have requests of some things you would like to see for her in the future, leave me a comment.

Khaki pants

Jeans

Jogging pants

Jogging pants, side view

I had to make Dasia a new piece so she wouldn't be upset about me working on Lammily clothes.  She got a new pair of eggplant pants.

The top is just an experiment.  It is a bodysuit I made for Lammily.  I wanted to see if it would fit Dasia.

  1. Wonderful news. I look forward to receiving the Photographer and know I will want to add some of your pieces to her wardrobe. It's good to know that some of your pieces will also fit Dasia.

Do you plan to sew for the Curvy Barbies?

    1. DBG - The sleeves on the bodysuit were the biggest difference between Dasia and Lammily. Not sure how this will play out with non-knit fabrics. Yes, as soon as I can put my hands on one of the three Curvy Barbies I like, I will add her to the collection.

    1. jewel snake - Thanks. The guy is not available yet. They are trying to get his production funded through a crowd fund. I like him, so when he is available, I may buy him.

    1. Janainah - Thanks. Dasia seems to gravitate to color. I like that about her.

  4. I'm excited about the Lammily fashions. I really like those khaki pants. I'd love to see a T-shirt dress, a wrap dress, and definitely some jeans. My Lily is college-age, but Khadija (the photographer doll I ordered) will be early 20s. And how did I miss that turtleneck?! I didn't know it came in that color, too. You know that's Dena's color- gotta put that one on my list.

    1. Jewell - Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't have that tshirt to show at the time. I just made it. I literally have almost every color in knits. I have 6 different lilacs, and 3 different purples. I listed quite a few colors in the turquoise listing. I don't have plans to offer the bodysuit, because I can't be sure it will fit inside all the pants. If you want a bodysuit, I can do it as a special order. You can get that color as a regular shirt (t-shirt or turtleneck)

  5. Yay, glad to see you are going to make some Lammily clothes. I have ordered the Photographer doll too, so it will be nice to be able to get some clothes to fit the both of them. I may have to attempt to make some clothes for the Curvy Barbies. I got some vintage Barbie patterns that might work.

    1. Phyllis - I'm looking forward to the Photographer doll. I'm sure she will help me get more creative with their fashions. You are going to have to enlarge those Vintage Barbie patterns. Curvy Barbie is larger than anything they have ever offered.

  9. I definitely understand doll jealousy!! (What I have to do to keep everybody happy in this house!!!) I'm not into Lammily, though I do accept that she should have nice clothes like everybody else! And given the lovely clothes you make for Dasia and the others in your house, Lammily couldn't ask for a better designer!

    1. April - Designing and sewing for Lammily hasn't brought me the joy like it does with Dasia. As evident by the lack of clothes I have made for her. I may not be the best designer for her after all. I'm not going to give up just yet, but.....
