Window Shopping Day

Yesterday, while shopping for dog food, I checked out the new doll stuff.  I was immediately drawn to the new Bratz offerings.  I have never owned a Bratz doll, but I love the clothes for some of my smaller Barbies.  After seeing the new stuff, I was soooo tempted to buy something.  I took pictures, instead.

This two outfit pack was calling my name.  You can't really see the details, on the denim skirt, but it is layered, and just adorable.  These packs at Walmart are $12.88.    Would you believe at my line dance class last night, there was a woman rockin' a similar green frog shirt.  Couldn't believe it.  That may have been a sign that I need to buy this pack.

The first sets I saw were the Study Abroad sets.  This is the Brazil set.  There are at least five different sets.  They each come with a rolling piece of luggage, two outfits (this set looks like it has three), and lots of great accessories.  Walmart retail is $24.88.

This is the very cute Russian set.

This Britain set almost had me reaching in my purse for $25.  You know how much I love anything British.  Just look at the cute British top on the right hand side.  When this goes on sale, it is mine, mine, mine.

This is the China set.  Again these clothes would work perfectly for some of my smaller Asian kids.

The Sleepover Party sets are exclusive to Walmart (I think).  Same thing...a couple of great pajama outfits and lots of accessories.

The pizza t-shirt is too cute.

The single Bratz doll sets are nice, too.  They are entitled "selfies".   They retail for $14.88.   MGA is bringing it!  I was like a little kid walking through this aisle.  So much excitement.   When I visited my 7 yr old neighbor last week, she proudly brought out her three new Bratz dolls and announced she was getting more soon.  I was happy to see the Bratz doll is still appealing to the young girls.

I always look at the 18" My Life dolls.  In the past one has been in and out of my basket, but none have made it home with me, yet.  If my granddaughter lived closer, I would have bought her at least one by now.

The hairstylist with her apron and her scissors.

This one is new, and she looks very much like my granddaughter.  She's a dance instructor.

And this one is just so cute.  Love her hair and her glasses.

I survived window shopping!!!  I did make a decision to buy one or more of the Project Mc2 dolls.  I didn't realize they were made by MGA, the same company that makes Bratz dolls.  I want to support this company because when there is good competition out there, companies produce better product.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I've seen these fashion packs up here also. Some are pretty cute. Which Barbie dolls would they fit? :-)

    1. Cindi - They might fit the new Stacy dolls. I have older style Stacy dolls that can wear them. I also have some non Barbie dolls that can wear them.

  2. I LOVE British stuff, too - to read/watch their mysteries, to eat clotted cream, and to watch Idris Elba ....

That cat outfit is sooo adorable. I think Takara produced a similar dress for Jenny (or maybe Azone did?).

Thanks for sharing your window shopping trip. Let's do this again sometime ;-)

    1. D7ana - Does that mean I have a traveling buddy when I decide to visit? Aren't their mysteries the best? They are having a British car show here in a few weeks. It will be my first time attending.

  3. I'm impressed by your ability to make it out there without picking any of these up! ;)

Seriously though, the more I see of the new Bratz dolls, the more I like them - one of these days I'm going to have to give in and pick one of them up.

    1. jSarie - If my 10 doll limit has done nothing else, it has completely stopped me from impulse buying. In the past I would buy first and ask questions later. Not so, anymore. It feels great to have a little control.

    1. billa's dolls - Isn't that frog shirt cute? I think you would like the intricacies of the skirt if you saw it in person.

  6. The Bratz dolls have always had really nice fashions and these confirm they have continued the same trend.

I liked the former head sculpt used for the My Life dolls better than the new face.

Yes, the Project Mc2 dolls are MGA. Now that you have seen them in person, what is your opinion of the head/body proportions, not as bad as you imagined or just as bad?

    1. DBG - I had already seen the Project MC2 dolls when I commented on your blog. I had put a Barbie head next to theirs and realized they could never exist in the same storyline. When I buy one, she will more than likely just sit on my desk and keep me company. When viewed alone the heads and bodies seem just fine.

  7. The MC2 dolls really seem non-MGA, don't they? So much more like Spinmaster's Liv.

Bratz's fashions are speaking to me more than the new Bratz, but a major barrier to purchase for me is that new feet don't properly fit old Bratz.

    1. Smaller Places - I had never really considered who made them. I didn't get a LIV vibe when I saw them. I just thought it was a new company.

Wow, I wonder why they changed the feet? That would irritate me if I had old Bratz.

  10. I usually dont buy bratz but these newer ones are so amazing! Did you know they also made a set where you can create bratz dresses? They even have a dressform to make the dresses on.

    1. Leandra - No I haven't seen the set with the dressform. That sounds very interesting indeed. I think I will go search for it online. Thanks for the heads up.

  11. Ohhhhh!!!! This takes me back to when I was shopping for myself. I just love your reasoning for having to buy stuff. You are to be commended for looking without buying though!!! The "Study Abroad" series for Bratz dolls are all adorable. But it is surprising there was no "Study Abroad" pack for France!!!

    1. april - I am patting myself on the back for walking away from the dolls. Lol. I imagine they didn't do France because it's always done. The ones they picked are so unique. They may add more if the line does well.
