Fancy Dresses in the Works

Yesterday I started designing Dasia's formal wear.  I'm ultra excited about all the possibilities.  The first thing I did was draft a six piece flared skirt.  I couldn't believe it actually fit her!  The sky is the limit now.  Neither of the dresses below are finished.  I'm just trying out different options to see what I like.  I hope to have some fancy dresses available for sale in a couple of weeks.

This dress has a simple bodice with gold trim.  I put the gold trim around her neck just to simulate what a gold choker would look like, if she had one.  I may have to make her one.  She is sporting her gold heels under the dress.  I think she needs a shawl.

This is the same dress but with a netting draped over the bodice.  I like the concept, but I think the netting needs some sparkle.  I'll have to figure that out.  She is wearing her original jewelry.

Nice time to introduce Dasia's rescued dog, Benji.

  1. Dasia looks divine in her new, formal dress. Much luck with this new line of clothing. I'm sure you'll do well. I showed your blog to my dad (who shares the house with me and all of my big doll crowd). He thinks your blog is so cool!!!

  4. Wow, she looks stunning in that dress. Dasia certainly has the best wardrobe around! Using this dress pattern with jewel tone fabrics would be very interesting! Can't wait to see what else you come up with. No doubt, I will have to buy something!

    1. D7ana - Dasia looks like a woman who likes galas. I didn't have a great birthday just because I had chemo the day before, BUT I've already planned to attend a function this coming Saturday to make up for it.

    1. Shasarignis - Thanks! I don't have a Lamily doll yet, but I think her body is totally different. I do plan to buy her soon. My plan is to start sewing for other dolls that do not have ready to wear clothing available on the market.

    1. Brini - Thanks! I've been seriously been bit by the sewing bug, and I'm perfectly fine with it. Of course my other dolls are wondering when they are going to get some attention. Every time I go to the basement, which isn't very often these days, some doll is yelling at me about wanting a story done. Poor things.

    1. KMQ - And to think I almost passed her buy. Thank goodness I didn't. She is one of my absolute faves. You may be able to find her on ebay if the seller is completely out, which to my knowledge she is.

  13. Dasia looks lovely. But it looks like you will have to add jewelery to your line as well because the dress with the choker looks fantastic.

    1. Carrickters - Thanks. That choker does make the outfit. I may just have to find a jewelry source to direct people to. I don't want to get into the jewelry making business, too. I'm busy enough.
