World Doll Day (Tag)

I've been tagged by Billa's Dolls and Fashions as part of a World Doll Day tag.  I'm not exactly sure when World Doll Day was.  Maybe someone will clue me in.  Anyhow, the rules of this tag are as follows:

1.  List 3 favorite dolls from the ones you got last year.
2.  List 3 dolls currently on your wishlist.
3.  Tag 5 people to do the same thing.

I barely remember buying dolls last year, but once I went back through my blog, I was reminded of a few faves.

#1 PRETTIE GIRLS Lena, Dahlia, and Kimora by One World Project.

#2 BARBIE LOOK  Red Carpet Gold Gown.  I knew the moment I saw this doll listed on BarbieCollector.com that she would be part of my collection.  She did not disappoint.

#3  Barbie Doll 2007 by Robert Best.  I found her for a great price at the a local doll show last year.  She's a real beauty.

I don't really have a wishlist.  Most of the dolls that were on my grail list, I have already purchased.  However, below are a few dolls that I enjoy and wouldn't mind if they ended up in my collection.

#1  Bus Stop Darla Daley.  I almost purchased her a couple of times when she first came out.  I loved this whole look for her.  I don't have a Darla Daley in the collection, and I think one day that will change.

#2  The Midas Touch (First AA Poppy)  Isn't she gorgeous?  I will never own her, but I'm content just watching her from afar.

#3 Incognito Elsa Lin 16" from Integrity Toys.  I have a few 16" dolls here, but I haven't bought one in a long time.  This lady is just gorgeous from head to toe.  Love the styling.

#3.5  And one more for good measure.  Super Natural Anais McKnight 16".  Another beauty from head to toe.

1.  Jewell
2.  AG Lanc
3.  Janainah
4.  D7ana ( I know you have already been tagged, so you only have to do it once.  Lol)
5.  Cindi Mortensen  (This may help get you back to the dolls.  Who knows.)

  1. Vanessa, we have some of the same faves. As I was reading through your list, I was nodding and going, "Yep, yep." Lol Those 16in Integrity girls are beyond gorgeous, and I think I'd like to have a Darla some day, too. Okay, I'm off to look through my 2014 purchases and current wish list.

    1. billa's dolls - Sorry you missed out on that Poppy. They did an awesome job on her. I can't venture back into 16", but it's nice to dream.

    1. jSarie - Seems like Bus Stop Darla was missed by a few other people, too. Glad I could give her a little more exposure.

  7. World Doll Day was started in 1986, and it's always the second Saturday in June. I never heard of it until this year though. The idea is to donate a doll to someone who can't afford it. By the way, I love the Darla doll. I've never seen her before.

    1. Tam - Thanks for the info. I didn't want to take the time to research it because I was already short on time. I love the donate idea.

  8. Thank you for the tag, Vanessa. I posted twice yesterday to get it in. I think Elsa Lin is gorgeous. I wish she came in 12". I already have three big girls. I don't want to add more because they take up room. But if I was going to give in, she'd be first on my list.

    1. Janainah - If Elsa Lin came in 12" I'm sure she would have sold out pretty quickly. Probably easier to acquire as a 16" What's one more big girl? Lol.

  11. Very nice list! I agree, the Barbie Look Red Carpet Gold did not disappoint. She was the only one I purchased and the red head will be the only one I purchase this round.

I still yearn for FR guys but have no interest in the ladies. I guess that's a good thing for my wallet. :-)

    1. Tracy - That red head is really nice, too. When I saw the rest of them on Dia777 flickr, they looked even better. Isn't that always the case. But I'm holding steady and passing on all of them. But they are nice. I hope you are able to get some FR guys in the future.

    1. Muff - Don't say that. You know sometimes I am easily persuaded. Lol. Luckily she is at a price that doesn't really suit me.
