Dasia is Here!

My Big Beautiful Doll, Dasia, arrived yesterday.  A few of you also own this beautiful doll.  Thanks to a recent post from Debbie, I contacted Georgette Taylor (georgettet@hotmail.com), one of the creators, and she still had one to sell. She arrived naked, so I quickly made her a simple dress so I could show her today.  When I get a chance, I will make her a few key fashion pieces.  I am going to refer you to Debbie's blog if you would like more information on this lady.  Here is a link to all the Dasia posts on her blog. She made a stop by Roberta's on Sunday evening after a long day at church.

Seems Roberta is quite the popular lady.

  1. Congrats! Did you get the last Dasia? Ms. Leo of I-Luv-Dolls shared the creator's email adress with me, but I have quite a few other dolls on my wishlist too so I might miss out on this one...

    1. Anderson's AP - I think I may have gotten the last one. I guess it was meant for me to have one. I waited long enough for everyone to buy the remaining stash and yet she was still there just waiting.

    2. Sounds like it was meant to be! She'll be happier with you anyway - I never get around to sewing for my dolls anymore.

  2. Hello, Dasia!

She looks lovely in her current dress, but I'm thinking she could rock some of Patti LaBelle's glitzier outfits from her current DWTS stint.

    1. Smaller Places - I've been watching DWTS. Patti is such a delight to watch. Dasia may get one glitsy outfit, but she needs more town to earth clothes to make her way around town.

  3. I Love Mrs Dasia and that dress is right on. She can sit, wow... I thought they were hard none bendable bodies. Not trying to rush you or change what your doing please show your other dolls. I went and look at other characters and love so many just would love to see them in a story, love your families.

    1. Ladonna - Thanks! She can sort of sit. Her body is not designed for sitting. I plan to show more of the characters soon. My part time job is taking more of my time lately. Right now I'm trying to juggle everything and there just aren't enough hours.

  6. You whipped up a very elegant dress for Dasia! Mine is still hiding because she doesn't have anything to wear.

    1. limbe dolls - Thanks! She just couldn't wait to make her debut, so she sent me straight to the sewing machine.

  7. So you broke down? Welcome to the club! LOL! So do the arms bother you still? Or just a little. WOW! Those ladies like to kick their shoes off and relax when they visit. Maybe there is some juicy gossip too. Dasia looks like she would have the details. Someone was snoring during the service!

I love the dress and Dasia looks like a Church hat girl. I know mine does.

    1. Ms. Leo - I would say the stars aligned for me to have her. I think my recent focus on the older ladies in town caused me to see how Dasia could fit in. Also getting more organized and having a little extra money helped her cause. The arms still bother me, but with the right clothes, they won't be so noticeable. After a long day at church, Dasia kicked those shoes off first chance she got. I need to make her some comfy bedroom slippers. Seems like that's what she would be wearing whenever possible. You know she was bringing the gossip.

  10. Congrats! I think you may have gotten the last Dasia. I asked about Dasia when I ordered my Dena, but Georgette didn't say anything about having one available. My Dena came yesterday. She is currently wearing a sock dress, but she will need something nicer before she makes an appearance on my blog. I like the dress you whipped up.

    1. Jewell - Thanks. I think I did get the last one. She didn't say it was the last one, but she sent a picture of her because her face is a little redder than normal. Congrats on your Dena. Looking forward to seeing her.

  13. Your fashion is perfect for Dasia! She looks great! Mine is hiding from me. So afraid I am going to give her away to my sister. Lol! My sister is not a doll collector, but a plus size chick. She fell in love with her at first sight. She was like "omg, they made a plus size Barbie". Lol! Every doll is Barbie to non collectors. Congrats on getting her.

    1. Georgia Girl - Thanks! Lol at the plus sized Barbie comment. Sounds like you should have bought 2 Dasia dolls.

  14. I think these dolls are lovely dolls, they are so sassy and full of plus size life. They made a caucasian one that Roville had on her blog that just had so much character- all of them look wonderful. I like her dress, and you might be able to find her shoes that fit on action figures like the Phicen dolls. They too have large feet like these ladies. I am looking to add some of the Hairspray dolls that are plus size to my herd as I like variety in the dolls, it makes them more believeable.

    1. Lisa - There were 3 dolls in the series. Dasia, Dena, and Dawn. Dawn is the caucasian one. It's definitely nice to have the variety. I plan on making her some shoes. I will be on lookout for the Hairspray dolls on your blog.

  17. Dasia and Roberta look like they are great friends - and I can just see Dasia kicking off her shoes. She will definitely enjoy some comfortable slippers. And all her new clothes, when you get a chance to make them. The first dress looks great.
