Busy Day at the Barbershop (Photostory)

Typical Saturday afternoon at Jason's barbershop.  It's packed and he's working hard to get caught up.  Rod has the boys with him to give Danielle a little break.  He and Julian will both be getting haircuts.

Jason is just finishing up with Randolph.
"So how's that?  Close enough for you?"  (Jason)
"Yep, that's good."  (Randolph)

"So what do I owe you?"  (Randolph)
"$15."  (Jason)

Randolph pays, and heads out.

"So who's next?"  (Jason)
"Let's do Julian first."  (Rod)
"Alright.  Hold on let me go get my booster chair."  (Jason)

"Okay half-pint.  Hop up."  (Jason)

Jason waits while Julian attempts the climb up.  In the end he grabs his hand and pulls him up.

"So what are we doing today?  You want to try one of the new mohawks?"  (Jason)
"Naw, I promised Danielle I wouldn't do anything crazy.  Just a shape up today."  (Rod)

"Hey Daddy, I can see you in the mirror."  (Julian)

"I can see you, too.  Now you're going to have to sit still while he cuts your hair."  (Rod)

"Alright half-pint, look straight ahead."  (Jason)

Julian obliges and Jason gets to work.

"I wonder if we shouldn't get you a little shape up, too?"  (Rod)
"NO!"  (Jacob)

"Well I guess the little one has spoken."  (Pierre, secretly hoping Jacob does not get a haircut today.  He's been waiting too long as it is.)
"That's his new favorite word.  I've had to hone my negotiating skills to work with a 2-yr old."  (Rod)

"Daddy, is Jacob getting a haircut, too?"  (Julian)
Jason cringes as Julian quickly turns his head to the right.  Cutting little boys' hair is always a challenge.

"Julian, you have to sit still or you're going to end up with a bald head, and your mom will kill us both."  (Rod)

"Hi."  (Jacob)

Let's just hope Julian doesn't cause any irreparable hair damage, or he could be leaving there with a lot less hair than when he arrived.

  2. Very cute story -- the barber shop is great. Gotta love Rod -- thinking you can negotiate with a 2 year old!

    1. Phyllis - Thanks. Yeah, I think it's safe to say Jacob will probably win that battle.

  3. Cute story! If Rod has some tips for negotiating with a two-year-old then I'd like to hear them. You met mine today and that lil' munchkin is determined to have things her way. That frosted donut might have been partly to blame, though. LOL

    1. Jewell - Maybe Rod should carry a spoon with him. Lol! It was great meeting your little ones. Yes, your two yr old is something else and I'm sure all that sugar was key to her laughing at you as you tried to get things under control. P.S. I am not subscribed to your blog.

  4. He won't be Julian without the curls! He isn't a Mohawk kinda guy. I like your use of the lamp too. I got 5 but I should have gotten more. Which version of President Obama do you have? Yours is different from mine.

    1. Ms. Leo - Didn't you hear Rod say shape up? Julian's curls are safe. I have another President Obama doll, too. It's probably the one you have. This is the DID version. The original set came with two different heads with two different expressions, a podium and a flag. It wasn't that expensive, but I only ended up buying this head when I saw it on sale.

    2. Mine is a TrueType. He came nude! I am sad to say that I have pictured in my mind the President nude but I was shocked when the action figure arrived that way! I had to get something quickly to put on him. I do have respect for the office. LOL! Mine has more of a serious face that yours. Yours looks like he is smiling.

  11. We heard Rod say 'shape up' but we all know hairdressers and so we are all shouting at our computer screens, "Not The Curls!" Very cute and I'm sure Jacob will win and NOT have a haircut whatever Rod thinks. I hope Pierre doesn't have to wait too long.

    1. Carrickters - Lol! I'm sure there were quite a few people yelling at their computer screens. It would have been nice to have two of this version Julian, so I could have one with cut hair and one with curls.
