Start of Ni'Chalet's Remodel (Photostory)

I hadn't planned on a story at Ni'Chalet's today.  It was supposed to be a story at Shantavia's place.  Maybe next time.  Racquel has started the remodel of Ni'Chalet's.  She has a long way to go.  She has an idea of what she wants to do, but she is likely to change her mind at any moment.  Lynn came in for a few hours this morning to help out.  Terrance, her husband, is there to help, as well.

I will be using the LIV window displays here again.

"I appreciate you coming in today.  The quicker we get this done, the quicker we can reopen."  (Racquel)

"No problem.  I wish I could stay longer to help."  (Lynn)
"Don't worry about it.  I know you have other things planned."  (Racquel)

Just then Terrance comes in from the back room.

"Honey, you are going to have to get a plumber in here.  The toilet is not working right."  (Terrence)
"I shouldn't have to get a plumber.  That should be on the landlord.  We just moved in.  I'll call him on Monday."  (Racquel)

"Are you ready for me to throw out all of those boxes?"  Terrance)

"Yes, but honey can you please check to make sure they are completely empty?  I don't want to accidentally throw out any merchandise."  (Racquel)
"Will do."  (Terrance)

"So where were we?"  (Racquel)

"Actually, I probably should go get my things together before Jason comes.  I just can't seem to find the energy to get up."  (Lynn)

Just as she finished her sentence, Jason walks in with the girls.

"Hi honey, you're here."  (Lynn)

"Yes, we are.  Are you almost ready?"  (Jason)
"Yes, I just need to get my purse and shoes from the back."  (Lynn)

"Hello Jason.  Good to see you again."  (Racquel)
"Hello Racquel.  Good to see you , too.  Looks like you guys have been busy."  (Jason)
"We have, but there's still a lot to do."  (Racquel)

"Hello Jada.  How are you today?"  (Lynn)
"I'm good."  (Jada)

"So how was Layla this morning?"  (Lynn)
"A little fussy.  She could use a nap."  (Jason)

"Let me have her."  (Lynn)

"Hey pumpkin.  You giving daddy a hard time?"  (Lynn)

"She was crying in the car."  (Jada)
"Were you crying, Layla?"  (Lynn)

"So are we ready to go get some lunch?"  (Lynn)
"Can we get McDonald's?"  (Jada)
"I'm sure we can find something a little better than McDonald's."  (Lynn)

"Honey, we need to get going.  I need to stop by the shop."  (Jason)
"Why don't I just drop you off at the shop and the girls and I will come pick you up later?"  (Lynn)

"Hello Lay Lay.  You want McDonald's for lunch?"  (Jada)

I'm sure they will sort it all out.  No telling what the boutique will look like when we see it again.  I know there will be hardwood floors throughout, at some point.

I made this little display shelf this morning and I need to make another one to go on the other side.

    1. Verona - Oh yes, she is! She loves free labor. Terrence isn't often available to help, so she was surprised he offered to help.

    1. Thanks Alura. I saw a similar display shelf on line and ran to the garage to make one. I thought about painting it, but think it looks fine natural.

  8. The shop's looking great! Where did you find those short columns and the round table? Those look really cool. And I really miss those Fashion Avenue clothes too. :-)

    1. Cindi - Thanks. I got those columns from the thrift store some time ago. I made the round table, or should I say I will be making the round table. I just threw that together to see how I liked it. The base is just a toothbrush holder.

  9. To a kid nothing is better than McDonalds. The size of the new location is perfect. I hope it doesn't stink from bad plumbing though!

  10. This boutique looks so stylish! I really like brick wall, it's giving a bit cold atmospere to the whole place.Display shelf perfectly suits to it! You remembered about exactly everything, even sunglasses stand! It's so great!
Terrence is a pretty helpful man! That's good, Racquel has a lot to do already, even without caring about throwing boxes out.

    1. jewel snake - Thanks. I think the place will warm up nicely once they get all the clothes, and accessories in there. She will probably get a new sunglass stand. That one was just a mock up, but I never changed it out.

    1. Thanks Brini. The problem is too many creative juices are flowing. But now I have my list to work from and hopefully I can stay on target.

  13. The remodeling of Ni'Chalet's appears to be off to a good start. Rachel will probably be happy when everyting has been completed.

The display shelf is very nice. There's just enough space to show case merchandise. Another one will come in handy though.

    1. DBG - She and I wish we could recruit some of you to help with the whole redo of Morristown. I had to make special shelves to show off those expensive handbags. Luckily there's no crime in Morristown or I would be leary about keeping those bags out in the open.

  18. I love the Asha head mold. I nickname it the "Kelly Rowland Head Mold" because it looks so much like her. I want a Black Barbie with the Asha face mold but they are hard to find and on ebay, overpriced.
