Giving Thanks

To all who celebrate this holiday, Happy Thanksgiving!!  I am in awe that another year is almost over.  I'm extremely thankful to be here.  I'm also extremely thankful to still have such wonderful people, that would be you, still reading my blog.  I find incredible joy blogging and reading other blogs.  And to me, that's what life is all about, finding joy each and every day.  So I made two thank you pies.  Yes, they are real.  The dolls are not getting these.  There's noting terribly special about these pies, except that they are firsts for me.

For my blogging friends, my first ever homemade pumpkin pie.  I've made sweet potato before, but never pumpkin.  I forgot to save some whipped topping, but this gives me a chance to make some from scratch.  Another first.

This pie is for my boyfriend, who has been so wonderful to me.  He loves peanut butter, so I made him a frozen peanut butter pie, with a homemade chocolate graham cracker crust, and shaved Cadbury chocolate with almonds on top.  The reviews said it taste like a Reese's peanut butter cup.  We shall see.

I hope to get extra points for presentation.

Again, Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your loving support over the past couple of years.

  1. Thank you, they look really yummy, and have a great thanksgiving day! And by the way... would you mind sharing the recipes (or the links) of those delicious cakes. If it's true that the second one is like Reese's peanut butter cup, I will for sure love it! My sister brought some last year, and I became addicted to them... A real problem as they are not sold here.

    1. Rossetti - Wow, no Reese's peanut butter cups where you live either! It's time to move. I haven't have a Reese's cup in over 20 years, but I still remember how wonderful they are. Here is a link to several peanut butter pie recipes. The one I made is the third on on the list. I am thinking about adding chocolate syrup when I serve it.

P.S. When I first saw your pic, I was like she has nailed another one to the tee. Lol! It was good to see that this one was real or else I would have had to come off doll diet.

    1. Cindi - Hmmm, I almost made a lattice topped apple pie, but that would have been too many sweets lurking around the house. I'm sure it was delectable.

  16. I saw the pics before reading and I said, "That girl knows she can throw down on some fake pies." LOL! Those look delicious. Did you get the thumbs up on the peanut butter one?

    1. Kenya - LOL! Making real food always helps me make fake food better. I did get the thumbs up. Frozen pies are a little tricky when you aren't serving them all at once. They have to be keep in the freezer, which means you have to let it thaw out a little before you can eat it. I ended up cutting it into individual pieces so they could be thawed out one slice at a time.
