Jetskiing and Racquetball. What a day!

Okay, so I broke down yesterday and bought a new playset.  It's the new 3 seater jetski that comes with the Stacy doll.  In my defense, I've been wanting the new Stacy doll with straight arms.  Purchased by herself, she is $10 with a bent arm.  She comes (with straight arms) in a set with Barbie for about $22.  Not interested in buying another blonde, unarticulated Barbie doll, so I never even considered buying that set.  So when I saw the jetski a few weeks ago, I was a little intrigued.  I wasn't happy about the $26 price tag, so it stayed in the store.  I decided to wait for a sale.

Did it go on sale?  No!  But with gas prices being what they are, I decided the potential $5 I would save when it went on sale, wasn't worth the headache and multiple trips to multiple Targets looking for it, just to say I got it on sale.  I would spend more than that $5 in gas alone.  Logic prevails and I got my jetski. and new Stacy doll.

I have to admit it was the inner tube that attaches to the jetski, that pushed this set from "do I really need another jetski?"  to "got to have it!".  Sometimes the little things do matter.  With Labor Day approaching, I'm thinking some of the families need to get out and have some fun on the water.

NEW PICTURE:  The jetski can also accommodate adult dolls.  Now Brad is a lot taller than most of the fashion doll men.  So the normal size man would probably look a lot better.  The waist holder is adjustable to fit small or large dolls.  Awww, can't you see Rod, Danielle and Julian or Nicole riding this.  Or Julian, Nicole, and Rod.  I wonder who I will put in the inner tube?
This is a new Barbie and Stacy set I saw on www.Target.com.  I haven't seen it in the stores yet, and have no plans to buy it, but thought it was cute, and it worked well with the jetski theme.  There are quite a few new dolls and doll sets out there, that aren't showing up in the normal channels.

 Now to the racquetball....
Yesterday, I FINALLY got to play racquetball for the first time in about 3 years.  Racquetball used to be my drug, I mean sport, of choice.  I would play 3 - 4 times a week.  When I wasn't at work, I was on the court. I played in local and national tournaments for a few years.  I briefly thought about trying to go pro, but the pay wasn't good enough.  So yesterday I played three games and it felt incredible, especially since I had contemplated selling all my racquetball stuff just a few months ago.  I was on the verge of giving it up completely.  I've decided to go out swinging!  LOL!

Dec 2010, I did a video with me and Leslie playing racquetball.  Since I couldn't play at the time, I decided to enjoy my sport through my dolls.

  1. Congratulations on your new playset. You look great! Playing is good (whether non-exertional or exertional). The key is to enjoy and have fun in the process. It appears you are. I'll watch the video later.

I am supposed to be working right now.
    :-)

    1. DBG - Get to work! Thanks. I don't know how to play non-exertionally. I am very competitive and want to win every time I step onto the court. LOL! I am a different person when I play racquetball. It is the only time I engage in trash talking.

    2. By non-exertional play I meant playing with dolls. Wouldn't it be great if we could burn calories playing with them? I'd be several dress sizes smaller.

  2. Nice score! I love the Stacie mold. Is it the same as the Skipper? Either way, enough to truly look like sisters. Can't wait to see the water fun!

    1. Vita Plastica - I'm bad with molds, but I'm pretty sure it is different than the Skipper mold.

  4. I have a Stacie from the Camping Sister series and she has a bent arm! This seems interesting, I wonder if Mattel will release this playset also in Italy. Anyway, you have a beautiful smile :)

    1. Sergio - I hope you are able to find this set in Italy. I have to get the golf cart next. We have one golf cart here, but can always use another one. That was me trying not to smile so much. Thanks.

  5. Thanks for sharing the Stacie-Barbie set. My favorite Stacie is the one where she's sold separate and her hair is swept back. I'd like to put that head on an articulated body.

Stacie and Skipper do have different head molds. Skipper has a closed mouth; Stacie usually grins.

Good to see you playing racquetball. I remember having tennis in high school and thinking that the instructor was just trying to kill me. Me, run after some little ball ;-D Yes, I was lazy.

Love the diorama for the sports club.

    1. D7ana - HEY, THAT REMINDS ME. I saw an articulated new Skipper doll and thought I was seeing things. I have to go find that picture now. Now that you mention it, it is the Stacie grin that I really like.

LOL! I will have to get you out on the tennis court for old time sake.

  8. Hello from Spain: I want to buy that set of Stacy and her boat. Thanks for showing the photos, In my country there are none for sale. I play tennis on a court outside. It is a sport much like you do. After I hit the ball very well stay. It consumes a lot of energy. Congratulations on the video. Your dolls are wearing very appropriate clothing for playing with rackets. The idea is very original. Keep in touch

    1. Marta - You will have to come visit the States and stock up on new playsets. I also play tennis. The tennis court is just a few feet outside the racquetball court. I will be on the tennis court soon, too.

    2. Hello again: you're right that I would have to go to your country to buy dolls and beautiful furniture. U.S. is very far and I have not many days off at work. Anyway after several years I certainly will travel to America. We will know and we'll play tennis ... I hope I win ... ja, ja, ja ... Keep in touch

  9. Smashing playset! I was considering getting it, mostly for Stacie, but then found a Stacie at the thrift! Did I mention I'm also a huge fan of Racquetball? I love playing it!

  11. The only watery playsets I have are from Liv. I like those a lot even though I'm doing nothing with them. If I told stories I might be interested in this set but I guess it's just child size?

Kids in Mattel land just be ballin'. First the kid is driving a golf cart now a smaller one is operating a jet ski.

As a loner I loved the racketball court when I was in college, but I would just volley with my tennis racket, lol as I've never played racketball. I was a mean ping pong player though! Glad you are revisiting an old love.

    1. Muff - I don't think the set is just child size. It states that it fits all four sisters and they are including Barbie as one of those sisters. I think the waist holder is adjustable.

I started playing racquetball in college with my good friend Valerie. Ping pong is awesome too. I played well as a child, but not so much anymore.

  13. The jetski set looks like a lot of fun, is there a lake near Morristown so they can let loose? I haven't seen it here but you're right - there seem to be a lot of playsets that are only available in the states.
I'm glad you included the video- it explained what Racquetball was and I'd never heard of it - it looks like the game we (Australia) call Squash. Great excercise.

    1. Carrickters - There is a lake nearby that amazingly looks like a pool. LOL! Racquetball is very similar to Squash, but the racquets are different and the rules are different.
