Finally The Boutique Video!!!

After another failed attempt at loading the video, bringing the count to three at about 8 hrs each, I was starting to think this video would only be seen on my blog, and not YouTube.  With the last two uploads, it would get all the way to the end of the upload, then crash.  I decided to delete my cache and that did the trick.  Not only did it upload, but it took half the time.

Double-click on the YouTube logo to watch in YouTube in Full Screen mode.
It figures that YouTube would select a picture that I didn't want seen.  I was trying to keep this girl a secret until you saw her in the video.  And we all know I didn't want my pitiful sunglass holder shown.  That's what I get for being lazy and not finishing it.  I have had this Barbie Basic 2.0 Model #4 doll ever since the BB 2.0 hit the shelves over a year ago.  We didn't bond at all.  I considered cutting her hair and painting her lips.  Both of which I still might do.  I finally rebodied her the other day and I immediately felt different about her.  She is the doll that got the N'Sync body.  It was a really good match for her.  So now she can stay in Morristown.

Mrs. Langford shows up in this video.  Her eye makeup is atrocious and will be redone at a later date.

This video is 8 min long, but it should move quickly now that I fixed the images.  I really hope you will make it to the end.  It is one of my favorites.  Not to mention all that I did to get it loaded. LOL!!!

  1. The video came out great. Love Bridget and her family! I am surprised that Darius didn't tell Nikki to buy both coats especially since he liked the brown one. And offer to pay for them. LOL

  2. This video was definitely worth all you had to go through to get it uploaded. I'm impressed that Ni'Chalet's has everything from St. Regis lace lingerie to elegant furs! I wish I could afford to shop there. :-)

  3. Frannie - Darius did pay for her coats. I left it ambiguous on purpose. But he definitely paid. The brown coat really was a little snug on her. Otherwise she probably would have gotten that one. She looks great in the white one though.

limbe dolls - Yea, Auntie Paulette can't wait to present her St. Regis lace lingerie at the bridal shower. Woot woo! That is when we will find out where that beautiful set came from. That is also where I will point them to your tut in the bridal shower video. This was just a tease. The beauty of having a small boutique is that she can bring in a little of everything. She is hoping to add some designer handbags soon.

  4. This one will definitely go down as one of my favs, from you. I actually started a "Fashion Dolls" play list featuring my favorite picks of you videos.

The boutique looks amazing! Raquel has so much merchandise to choose from, my goodness! I really like her. I hope that word gets out soon about your videos because I think you more than help sell dolls. Not in an enabling way either but sometimes you look at a doll and you're not sure how you'd fit them in to your group or stories and then your videos come along, really showcasing the beauty of the doll and people just might be moved to buy them.

We're definitely spoiled but I hope you're getting some rest in between. Having said that, I'm super excited to see the next video or photo story. ;)

    Fabulous!!!

  5. Tracy - Thanks! You are such a sweetheart. This is one of my favs, too. Racquel fits the role of boutique owner very nicely. She is also the perfect connection between both worlds. With her being really good friends with Antoinette and now Bridget (both from high school) and Halle (her newest BFF) and being married to someone who travels in the elite circle, girlfriend can just mesh with everyone. Don't worry about me sleeping. I think you and I both be bobbing and weaving throughtout the night trying to get doll stuff done. I'm sure there is a photostory in the near future and a video not too far behind.

  6. Well worth the wait! The boutique looks like some where I want to shop! It looks like it has just the right amount of everything. It was fun seeing everyone come out and show their support for the new business. Great job! Looking forward to the bridal shower lol (after you rest of course)

  7. Chynadoll - Thanks! Racquel is going to have fun keeping her little boutique stocked with new goodies! No rest needed. I just need to make the darn bridal shower cake. Knowing me I will do a totally different video while I procrastinate a little more on this cake. It would take me all of 15 minutes to make it. Maybe they don't need a cake?

  8. Hello from Spain: i am delighted with your video store opening. What a great job you did. I kept feeling more in spite of 8:46 minutes. I love it. In the world of Barbie is no economic crisis. I love that they buy so many clothes. I like white fur of Nikki the Shelly behaves as is a girl, hiding in the clothes. The basic Barbie redhead bought her 10 days ago. I also love. I saw that you got the rubber hair. What I do like your. I can only say: congratulations and you are fantastic.

  9. Marta - Thanks for your wonderful comments! All of their shopping made me tired. But I was happy they all supported Racquel.

  10. Beautiful boutique and I love, love, love the fur coats! The sunglass holder thingy looks fine to me...what are you going to do to change it? You are so multi-talented. Remind Halle to call Raquel tomorrow so we can get the scoop on Diego. : )

  11. Debbie - You are too funny. I'm sure we will be getting the scoop on Diego real soon. Isn't that fur coat going to look nice in Aspen. Remind me never to plan to big events at the same time.

  12. LOL, I know that's right Vanessa! It's a mission I have to do something doll related before I lay it on down. It's like, I have to do something for "me" and that's not too bad. :)

You did a great job of connecting everyone and slowly introducing characters. It's nice to see Bridgette out of the box and you finally got to use that cute lil' red haired boy.

I forgot to comment on how gorgeous those furs are that Nikki was trying on. Darius and Nikki are definitely my number one "hot" couple. :)

  13. Great video! The boutique looks soo good and full lots of selection.
Your Darius is yummier than mine...lol

  14. Hello Vanessa! I've been lurking for a while and have enjoyed your blog and videos. And you and the other ladies have gotten me back to my Barbies, which I have held onto from my childhood, and my collection is my prized possession. I was doing doll dioramas before I knew what they were and bragged about having the best and most realistic Barbie house on the block. My neighbors and I played Barbies until I was 17 and loved every moment. I held onto my collection because I hoped to have a daughter of my own to share my dolls with. I have not been blessed with children yet, but thanks to your blogs and others like it, I realize I can play with them on my own.

Anyway -- I was writing this to ask if I could assist with the wedding plans by offering to make the invitations! I am a graphic design student and I am always looking for an excuse to make wedding invitations. Hopefully Danielle will not be as difficult as my other bridal clients! I have already whipped up a few samples if you'd like to take a look. I think they would make a nice opener to the wedding video. Just let me know if you'd like to see them and I will send them on. Meanwhile I can't wait to see what you come up with next. You are so talented, and you really can do it all. I wish I had half your talent for stuff like this. Take care and keep it coming!

  15. Great video Vanessa!!! This is my favorite of them all. The boutique looks good, the store is nicely stocked, and the customers seem to have come with fat wallets (ie furs). Lol! Loved it! I am looking so toward to the shower.

  16. mrscarissa - Thanks. I don't get it. How is my Darius yummier than yours?

Lise620 - Welcome back to the wonderful world of Barbie. Sounds like you guys had a ball! Great to hear you played until you were 17.
Wedding invitations would be wonderful! I had wanted to make some myself, but my digital imaging disk with everything I need is MIA. That would be a godsend. My email address is vanessamorrison68@gmail.com. I can't wait to see your samples!

Georgia Girl - It figures your favorite would include a place to spend money! You're looking forward to the bridal shower and I'm looking forward to the bridal shower being over. LOL!

  17. New follower here!
I'm attempting to do the same, story type blog myself, and so I'm thrilled to have found yours!
Plus, your tiny foods and furniture are amazing, and now I will be stalking your etsy shop too XD
    Thanks!

  18. Heather - Welcome! So glad you found me. Let me apologize for my lack of Etsy product. I am working on getting new stuff listed. This doll wedding, doll ski trip, and furniture orders, have me totally consumed. I look forward to seeeing your stories.

  19. Seems like he is somehow finer? LOL I know he probably looks the same but for some reason I have a very hard time playing his character. It is kind of a shame too since he is the only fine chocolate brotha in these parts of doll land. I don't really like Mattel's AA guys with that big ole smile on their faces, one of my doll pet peeves. I even toyed with the idea of putting my basics AA head on Darius' body but I paid to much for him. LOL He just sits around being eye candy. Your Darius is just somehow yummier...LOL
    At least in my head.
I hope Darius character will come out to play one day.

  20. P.S. I was just wondering where the new food is in your shop. You know I do like my food!

  21. mrscarissa - The food is coming! My new plates just arrived two days ago. I hope to have some new things in by Monday.

  22. Just saw the video today and saw the fabulous boutique that is new in town if I was a doll I totally would buy clothes there

  23. Great video. I enjoy seeing all the details and watching the dolls interact.

  24. jessikaj - Thanks. Racquel said you are welcome to stop by any time.

Hey It's Muff - Thanks. I needed your photo skills for the end. When I put Darius in the shot. His tall behind threw off the lighting. I was too tired to fix it after dealing with all those other customers.

  25. Hey. I liked the vid and the shop (sunglass holder is good!). I want to say that, I think, YouTube puts the very middle frame/photo as the preview so if you can figure that out, you can play with that. Good luck!

  26. I enjoyed the video. The lighting is so good it made me fall in love with Darius all over again. Why did I say, "Whatever" when Nikki said she was in there looking for things for the ski trip. LOL! The little girl playing in the clothes was cute. She got all innocent when Grammy came back. Too funny. Loved it. And I didn't even pay attention to whatever picture was on the thumbnail was on the thing. I just clicked play ;-) Halle still doesn't look satisfied. :-(

  27. I had to wait until I had an uninterrupted, alert 9 minutes to watch your latest video. I enjoyed it.

Raquel's grand opening was busy with paying customers. The boutique is well stocked with nice merchandise.

Why do children always hide in clothes? Cute moment.

Darius is one smooth operator, but not smooth enough to convince Nikki to buy the brown coat.

    Great job!

  28. cosmopolitan ELLE - Thanks! I'll keep your advice in mind. Chances are I won't manipulate it. I love just letting things happen.

Kendra - Thanks! Nikii told me to tell you, you are not invited to the ski trip video! Darius said 'hello'. I think Halle is doing okay. She was just having a bad hair day. You know that can throw off your whole day. You will have to ask her if she's "satisfied". I don't know nothing about that. LOL!

DBG - Thanks. Can you imagine what all those clothes overhead look like to a kid that size? Darius couldn't convince her and he was paying! (That coat really was too small for her. I had to do somersaults to get her in it.) Now that I think about it, I wonder if Darius had a fantasy going on about that long coat? Maybe he was thinking of that coat as one for the house, instead of skiing. He really did like that one.

  29. Well what kind of food? Don't leave me hanging.

  30. mrscarissa - Do you really think I know what food I am going to do beforehand? I don't know until I sit down to make it. My life is one spontaneous move after another. Very little planning at all. I am open to suggestions, but can't make any promises.
