I was supposed to be doing a video with Darius and Nikki, but the three of us had some issues. I never force a story and they were just not cooperating. Needless to say, I have so many stories in my head, I can always just move on and that is what I did.
So here is a story with, who else, Danielle and Roderick. I didn't want to shoot the video with the kitchen the way it was, so I totally redesigned her home. The layout will stay like this, but of course the decor and accessories will be updated and added to as time goes on.
This is the view from the dining area looking into the living room.
This is Grandma's Kitchen, but I closed off the table area. It was taking up too much space. I will be painting the countertop and sink. I may replace that table with a smaller table. Can't wait to finish that laundry room!

Note: I did not make the lasagne in this video. It was made by a local woman about 5 years ago. She made the best food, but she stopped doing it about 4 years ago. I did make the ravioli, but that was a while ago, before I really knew what I was doing.
Oh, Jacob is speaking. I was not sure he could speak. :) And he has brown eyes. I wonder how many kinds of Mikey dolls do exist. I usually see only green-eyed tanned Mikeys on eBay. ReplyDeleteDukasha - That is a Mikey doll. I got 6 of them in one pack. There were 3 black ones and 3 white ones. His eyes are only brown because of my pitiful painting job. I keep saying I am going to take them time and do it right one day. He has spoken in other videos, the latest one being the visit to the dinosaur museum. As a matter of fact, the very first video he was in, 8 months ago, he was talking up a storm with Ciana.
ReplyDeletewilliam - Thanks. I am much happier with the rearranged home. This way I can use the door in the kitchen area too. I have to install a real door in her house, now. I think I saw Danielle buying some lingerie a few weeks ago. There could be fireworks on this trip.

ReplyDeleteVanessa, yes, I heard about those Mikey 6 doll packs. Btw, do they usually come dressed or nude? One person on eBay always has Mikey dolls on sale and every auction is for 6 nude Mikey dolls, 3 tanned and 3 white. Is that what you are speaking about? I'd like to buy such a pack also, but his auctions are "US only". And now he has only 5 kinds of Mikey dolls, though there are still 6 dolls in every pack, just two of them are identical.
ReplyDeleteYour painting job is good as everything you make with and for your dolls. I have several dolls, which I want to have another eye color, but I'm not talented at all and I'm afraid the result of my work will look awful.
Dukasha - Yes, that is the set I am speaking of. My dolls came nude. Most of them come with very stange hair colors. But the ones I use work with the families. Chynadoll Creations does have a post where she shows how to paint the hair. She also shows how to repaint their eyes and eyebrows. ReplyDeleteI will more than likely change the strange hair colored dolls in my stash. My eyes are horrible, but in my defense, I just wanted to do something quick and dirty for a past story and I couldn't take his original eyes any longer. I just haven't gotten back to redo it properly. I am usually very encouraging when it comes to trying new things. I will say that eye painting can be quite challenging unless you have the right tools.
Thanks, that's interesting, though I read some repainting tutorials before, and I have been having acrylic paints and a thin brush for a long time already. But I still don't dare to do something with my dolls. Having right tools and instructions is a good thing, but first of all you need to have right hands. :)

April - So it was you! Nothing was going right with Darius and Nikki. I broke her jewelry. Then the new jewelry wouldn't stay on. I couldn't get the scene right. Darius kept falling off his chair. It was a mess. They are still over there sitting in the space wondering what happened.

You know Roderick will have something really nice planned. He is finally going to get her alone. He is not going to mess this up.
I love the story! Very tender touch. Looking forward to more of it. Your Jacob looked much better without his green eyes lol. Those Mikey dolls are a strange little mess with the crazy hair and green eyes. I think we all must have purchased from the same vendor LOL. Thanks for the shout out. If you ever need help changing Jacobs face again let me know. Maybe he could take a road trip to NJ for a makeover :)
ReplyDeleteChynaDoll - Thanks. Yes, I think we were so happy to see something other than Tommy dolls, that we were all over the Mickey dolls. I wonder why they didn't create little girls, too? Thanks for offering to redo my little Jacob's eyes. If I send something to NJ, it will not be Jacob. LOL! I really can paint them much better. I used to make/sell porcelain dolls and I used to sculpt original dolls, so I have a lot of experience with painting faces. I think subconsciously I did a crappy job, because any thing that I do well, I put it into my business. I don't want to add anything else to my long list of things to do. I will be forced to make Jacob's eys better since that family seems to be getting a lot of camera time.

DBG - They are all going to be hiring Ms. Lydia, the interior designer, because they need some serious decorating tips. I know she works for the Elite, but with the current economy, she has had to take all the work she can get.

Julian just remembers the girl who played with him. That was ages ago, so that name Nicole is not at the front of his cortex.

Tracy - What can we say about Rod? He is hoping that a 'nice' guy can finish first for a change. He knows he is not as handsome as some of the other guys, so he has always had to use his charm to get the ladies.
ReplyDeleteIt is a challenge filming them these days. They start looking at each other all starry eyed, and I am like "get a room"! I don't know what he's planning yet. He hasn't even told me, but I am sure it will be very well thought out.
