My Georgia Peach and More Shoes

Sunday is the one day of the week I practice my crocheting or knitting.  This past Sunday I crocheted Ellowyne a peach strapless dress.  I'm really happy with the progress I'm making.  Just two months ago I couldn't crochet an outfit if my life depended on it.

Now I need to make her some shoes.  The task list is never ending.

This is another pair of shoes I made for Dasia.   They close on the sides with velcro.

Today is the day that I list Dasia shoes in my Etsy store.  I'm headed over there now.

Dressed for Church

She is on vacation and still making demands.  I got a call from Dasia yesterday and she requested a outfit to wear to church on Sunday.  She said she would be back in town first thing this morning and was hoping I would have something for her to try on.  My first reaction was, church???  That means I have to find a spot to rebuild the church.  Needless to say, I made her a tie blouse (my first ever) and a blue skirt.

Please forgive these blurry pictures.  I need to set up better lighting for picture taking.

Here she is with her granddaughter, Carla.  This is the dress Carla's mom picked out for her.

This is the dress Carla picked out to for herself to wear.  They are both Bratz fashions.  Neither of the dresses close all the way in the back, but they fit great everywhere else.

The church will be filled tomorrow with more residents from Morristown.

Here is a shot of the recent Bratz fashions I ordered from Target.com.  They were on sale.

This doll set was $2.75.  I just noticed today that it comes with a pair of scissors.

This doll set was $5.98.  I just checked, it's now on sale for $4.98.  I think this outfit will look cute on Zahara (S.I.S. kid)

This set has a lot of pieces to it.  A skirt, a top, cute leggings, a dress, a long sweater, a ski coat, skis, goggles, and hot chocolate.  I can't use the shoes or the hat, so I didn't count them.  I paid $11.98, original price is $19.99.  It is now $9.98.  I also got free shipping.

I think the long sweater is better on Nicole, than Carla.

Shoes and a Dress

Shoes for Dasia and a dress for Lammily.  I'm finally making progress on producing shoes I think are nice enough to sell.  So this morning I successfully created a wooden wedge heel and base that I am very happy with.  A couple more cuts and it will be a base with a regular heel.  I will still make some shoes with cork bases now that I've figured out how to cut and glue them better.  Shoes will be finally listed in my shop Wednesday of next week.

These gold slingbacks aren't finished.  I couldn't decide on the right heel and base.  That cork heel is just temporarily attached.  I will have a wooden heel.  Not sure if it should be natural or painted gold or some other color.  I'm open to suggestions from you shoe enthusiasts.

This is an A-line dress that I think works nicely with Chante's body type.

Here is the same dress styled completely differently.  I really like this style on her, too.  When I make it for production, I will make it so that it doesn't require a belt to hold it in place.  Now I'm off to try to make Lammily some cute shoes.

Cynthia? No Chante.

A couple days ago I named my Photography Lammily, Cynthia, and I gave her a boyfriend, Kenya's World, Dwayne.  He was a great height and his large head balances out her large head.  They are both science students at the local university, but he is one year ahead of her.  Giving her a boyfriend will keep me interested in growing her wardrobe.  At the moment I am sewing all kinds of different things for her to help me figure out what works for her body type.  I don't have any home runs yet, but I am finding some colors that work well on her.  Today I decided she will be Harold's niece, that way Dasia will want to help me build her wardrobe, instead of giving me horrible looks every time I make her something.

Here she is in a yellow shift dress.

I like this soft yellow on her.

When I saw this picture, I started singing the Chante Moore tune, "Chante's Got A Man At Home".  Then I remembered that Chante used to wear her hair pulled to the side just like this.  THEN, I remembered that the man at home she was singing about was Khadeem Hardison who played Dwayne Wayne on the hit series "A Different World".  Sooooo, I decided to change her name to Chante (shan - tay).  In this picture she is wearing a sundress in a golden yellow.   After I make her some cute sandals I will show a better picture of dress.

This top is a throw away.  The material was too stiff to make the top I wanted to make.  I wasn't trying to make a crop top, at all, but after seeing this on, I think she may be able to pull off the right crop top.

Here is a picture of the burgundy dress shorter than my original picture.  I think I like it better short.  So far I think the dropped waist works best on her.

Today I made her a shirt I am calling the X-ray shirt.  She is house sitting for her uncle Harold and aunt Dasia, who are away on vacation for a week.  She and Dwayne stopped by the house before heading to classes for the day.

So Where's Rod? (Photostory)

While Danielle is home informing the boys about the little princess that is on the way, Rod is meeting with his lawyer in hopes of restoring his visitation rights with Nicole.

Disclaimer:  Please forgive the office dio.  It's a quick and dirty due to time constraints.

Roger is explaining to Rod the conversation he had with Melanie's lawyer.

"I just don't understand how she can keep doing this?  It's just not fair.  I take good care of my daughter and she wants to paint me as a deadbeat dad."  (Rod)

"I know, but unfortunately the courts may be a little biased when it comes to dads.  As a lawyer she knows the law and knows just how much she can get away with.  You may want to consider fighting for full custody.  Then maybe she would see how serious you are about the issue."  (Roger)
"Full custody?  I'm not sure I want to stoop to her level."  (Rod)
"Just give it some thought and if you change your mind, let me know."  (Roger)

"So your arbitration hearing is August 3rd at 1pm.  And since your ex-wife is a lawyer, I will be there to make sure you aren't railroaded."  (Roger)
"I appreciate that."  (Rod)

"It doesn't look like they have assigned the arbitrator yet.  I will keep checking.  It helps to know who we are dealing with before we go.  Try not to worry.  You have a strong case."  (Roger)
"Great.  Well I appreciate your time."  (Rod)

"My pleasure.  Call me if you have any questions."  (Roger)

Rod heads home.  Once there, he enters to a very quiet house.  He wonders where everyone is.

It doesn't take him long to locate Danielle.

She is knocked out in the nursery.  He quickly scours the house to see if the boys are somewhere about, before returning to the nursery.

He walks over to Danielle and bends down to give her a kiss on the forehead.

Before he can do so, Danielle turns and opens her eyes.
"Hi, honey.  You're back.  How was the meeting?"  (Danielle)
"Okay.  Where are the boys?"  (Rod)
"Oh mom stopped by and decided to take them with her to give me a little break."  (Danielle)

"And how is the little princess?"  (Rod)
"She was a little feisty earlier, kicking up a storm, but she's been pretty quiet lately."  (Danielle)
Rod goes quiet for a minute.  He is reminiscing about the times he used to talk to Nicole when she was in the wound.
"Are you okay?"  (Danielle)

"Yes.  I'm fine.  Come lay down with me."  (Rod)
He takes her hand, helps her out of the chair and leads her to the bedroom.

Doesn't take him long to undress to his boxers.
"So tell me about the meeting."  (Danielle)
Rod tells Danielle all about his conversation with Roger.
"Wow, full custody?"  (Danielle)
"I'm not sure that's the route to take.  I'll have to wait until arbitration.  Now come here."  (Rod)

Rod puts his arm around Danielle and pulls her closer.  He kisses her on the forehead.
"That's enough talk about Melanie.  I'd like to keep her out of our bedroom."  (Rod)

One Top, Three Dolls

Sunday I crocheted a top for Lizette.  I've decided she will be my main model for crocheted and knitted items.

It is a little big in the back, so I will have to adjust the pattern or the hook size.  She is wearing Elsa Lin's skirt which is a little small in the waist.

Elsa Lin is a about a 1/2 inch taller than Lizette, but the sweater fits her, too.

Then Dasia decided to try it on, and low and behold it was a nice fit on her, too.  She said, she refuses to lose her status as head fashionista around here.

Well, I'm off to go sew for Lammily, who unfortunately could NOT wear this top.

Lammily Test Garment #2

Test garment number 2 in my quest to make Lammily a decent wardrobe.  Darn.  Looks like I will need to make shoes sooner than I wanted to.  She has really cute feet.  Very realistic looking.

Lammily and a New Dolly

I've been asked by several people to make clothes for Lammily.  Dasia and I were less than thrilled.  She, more so than me.  I figure if I just start sewing and designing, I would gain some momentum and really start enjoying sewing for her.  So today, I started.  It will be a little while (couple weeks maybe) before I have anything to offer for sale.  Right now I'm just drafting and testing pattern pieces, and trying to come up with suitable designs.  My two Lammily dolls are college students, so the first test outfits will be more college  themed.  In the end there will be a little bit of everything in their wardrobe.

Khaki shorts and a sweatshirt.  Not really focusing on summer versus winter right now.  I'm just designing pieces.  The numbers will probably be slightly bigger if I decide to offer a similar top for sale.

Here she is with her Gap backpack.

Today my red headed tall Fashionista arrived from Target.  Yay!  I can't wait to rebody her on a Made-to-Move body.  Shame she has to lose her height, but there are enough tall women running around town.

Baby's Sex Revealed (Photostory)

Danielle has gathered the boys to share some good news.  She was going to wait until Rod returned from his meeting, but she is so excited she decides to tell them herself.

"Remember when Mommy and Daddy told you we were going to be welcoming a new baby soon?"  (Danielle)
"Hmmm mmm."  (Julian)
"Well we found out whether you are going to have a little sister or a little brother."  (Danielle)
"So what is it?"  (Julian)
"If you open up that door over there, I think you will be able to figure it out."  (Danielle)

"That door?"  (Julian)
"Yes."  (Danielle)
"But that is Nicole's room."  (Julian)
"We moved Nicole's room so the baby could be closer to us.  Go look."  (Danielle)

Julian makes his way to the door.
"Ooooh." (Julian exclaims as he opens the door and goes in)
Danielle gets up and follows him into the room.

"So did you figure it out?"  (Danielle)

"Yes.  I'm having a little sister."  (Julian)

"Yes, you are having a little sister.  Are you happy about that?"  (Danielle)
"Yes.  I wanted it to be a sister, so now I have a little brother and a little sister."  (Julian)
"She's going to be lucky to have a big brother like you.  Now can I sit in the rocking chair?  You can sit on my lap."  (Danielle)

"When I was a baby, did you have a room like this for me?"  (Julian)
"Of course.  You were my first baby, so your nursery was extra special."  (Danielle)

Julian beams as his mom talks about him as a little baby.  Danielle reminisces about both boys as babies.  She loves them to the moon and back, and she is so looking forward to adding a little girl to the mix.  She looks around the nursery to see all the stuff she has left to do to get it ready for the new baby.  She still has a little time, but not much, to get everything finished.
